You are not of any help here... the thing that i gave away a copy my friend bought me and told me i can do what ever i want doesn't mean i am rude, the topic i created is on a completly different subject... so please goodbye..

Why assume that because someone can give away a game key, they aren't having financial problems? Even if I was struggling, if I had a spare game key a friend gave me that I didn't want i'd share it with SteamGifts. Giving away a game and having money problems have no connection unless you know how/where someone has acquired their game key or gift.
The assumption that people on this site who give away games must have masses of spare money gets tiring after a while.

What the hell is up with people giving away games their friends give them? If you don't want it politely ask your friend to take it back and gift it to someone else. Giving it away to a third party is just plain rude.
Is your cousin wearing the t-shirt your mother bought you for Christmas because you didn't like it?

Listen, i cannot understand your problem, if my friend told me i can give it away, what in the hell is your problem? i cannot understand, we are arguing on a subject that you do not completly understand..

When eBay becaome 'popular' it was marketed as a place to give away gifts you'd been given and didn't want, that is what Jack has done.
Instead of selling the game to make money, which he could have tried to do, he gave it back to a community so others could have the chance to win. Assuming that his friend would find it rude that he has given the gave away is an unjustly assumption. I know that if i gave my friend a game and he gave it away I would have no problem with it. Once i've given it to him, it is his to do as he pleases with it.

Why is everyone creating random arguments for no reason at all? There are two sides of the coin to this.
One: Giving something away that you didn't want, hopefully to someone who actually wants it and will enjoy it rather than it laying around on the floor/ground. Making sure of course that the person who gave it to you doesn't care what you do with the item. Taking into account that the "giver" understands your purpose.
Second: Not giving away something (even if you didn't want it) you politely tell the person it is something you didn't want, perhaps asking them to return it or give it to someone who'd actually want it. Instead of (like the first one) making it seem as though you underhandedly acted as though you wanted it, but in reality you didn't want it in the first place. Taking into account the "givers" feelings more so than yourself.
People think differently on different things. He said his friend didn't care, yes I understand that it seems rude that he gave it away even though his friend personally gave it to him, but would it be better for him to activate it and not play the game at all?
On a side note OP, if you gave the game away 2 days ago and claim that you are struggling financially why the heck would you do that? There is nothing wrong with giving games away, but why not sell it? If your friend wondered why you sold his game you can easily explain your financial situation to him/her, and they'd probably even help you out.

Sorry to hear you got scammed. No matter how naively or trustingly someone has behaved, contrary to what I so often see posted on these forums, nobody "deserves" to get scammed, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Little old ladies don't "deserve" to get swindled out out their life savings by doorstep conmen, and honest users don't deserve to get parted from their hard earned cash and games by online scammers. My sympathies :(
It's important to note that comments on a profile aren't "rep", and can easily be manipulated. Don't pay any attention to these. Check for a well-populated Steamtrades profile (and check that the person you're dealing with isn't impersonating someone who has such a profile). Also run their name through Steamrep before trading.
As others have said, make sure you report this ballbag.

Why are you trading CD keys for money to pay your bills anyways? Do you not have a steady source on income?

I do not have a steady source on income, i live in Romania if you know what that means, no moneys..

You got scammed because you're dumb, and you need to think for a bit before throwing your keys away.
I sincerely doubt that a high rep trader would scam you at all, but nonetheless, I always check their rep and make sure that the people who rep him positively are real traders, not some alternative accounts with private profiles or no games at all in their list.
Then to check steamrep and make sure that the person I'm talking to is the same person that made me an offer (could be an impersonator, just changing his nickname and profile avatar)
The tools to do a safe trade exist, and if you don't use them, it's your own fault. I've made few trades at the moment, but always went first either with paypal or keys, without even questioning the trader, I just checked for myself, and I didn't get scammed.
You better read some tutorials on how to not get scammed before venturing forthwith with trading.

i had only one rep on my steam profile, he got at least 2 pages
This means he didn't even check his steamtrades/steamrep before trading... But yeah, there were many threads on this forum about how people scam you, what you can do to prevent it, etc. It's his own fault for not even bothering with the time to try to research before hand.

Man that sucks :(
When trading, no matter what the rep Paypal goes 1st... + double/triple check their steam/steamtrades/steam rep profiles before trading and keep screenshots of every trade convo...
Hope you don't run into anymore trouble, have a good day :)

"on the steam profile" and "at least 2 pages"
I'd call steam profile rep quite useless - even I have 18 pages and I never ask people to rep me (except for trades on Steamtrades.com, but I never asked for profile rep).
Maybe the successful steam trades should always be displayed, not just in the trader showcase (according to the showcase, I've made 3,370 trades over the lifetime of my account).
It would still not save everyone from scammers, but it might be a useful indicator - but just like profile rep, this could easily be faked.

This is why anarchy will never work/is the worst human condition. The natural state of man's life is solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short.

Yesterday i asked some advices on how to make a trade, i had 3 keys, he had to pay on paypal, the forum sayd that the one with lower rep goes first... i had only one rep on my steam profile, he got at least 2 pages... now the problem is, i gave him the keys, he activated them and blocked comunications with me... the games were Max Payne 3, Brutal Legend and Bully... i really needed the moneys, as i sayd i am in a bad financial situation... I had to pay some bills... now it is kinda over..maybe they will disconnect my internet because isn't payd... if i would not have this problem of the bills i wouldn't give a shit about the three games.. but i was in really need of moneys.. scammers don't have a soul... they don't care about a person who sells those games maybe he doesn't have even what to eat on those moments... i don't have any other words... Goodbye
