Local co-op as in two PC's or as in splitscreen?

If it's splitscreen

  • Portal 2
  • Shank 2
  • Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed

If it's local co-op

  • Sniper Elite V2
  • Left 4 Dead Series

And I don't know where to fit on this, since it's not splitscreen actually

  • Peggle
  • Beat Hazard: Ultra <-- Recommended to be Ultra for massive enjoyment! (Also I think it needs to be Ultra to play co-op)

Well then, as said on the list Portal 2, Shank 2, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, Peggle and Beat Hazard: Ultra are my personal recommendations, tried to choose games that is a different genre since I don't know your tastes m8 :V

Though I suppose you'd like Beat Hazard: Ultra if you put your favourite music in it

Also I think Left 4 Dead has split-screen on the PC version but not sure.

Rayman games are great (Origins, Legends - you control two or more characters on the same screen in both)
Portal 2; Split/Second for splitscreen

Also, not exactly Rayman game, but same world (I think) - Raving Rabbids Games are great, maybe rather for a 4 player party , as it's much more fun than just 1v1.

My daughter and I play a lot of Battleblock Theater and Torchlight 2 - both fun!

Torchlight 2 has local coop? Local means in the same computer, not LAN.

No sorry, I misunderstood, we have our laptops next to each other. So its LAN and not on the same PC.
...We also do that with Battleblock but it does list Local as an option as well.

Borderlands series, if you like looters and can play for a longer time. Diablo 3 for the same reason but with a different setting.

I wouldn't count Speedrunners, Nidhogg and some others as coop games (but they're still great for multiplayer).

Well yes, they are local multiplayer, and not co-op, to be exact.

Trine / Trine 2. Great game(s) to play two people in front of the TV with one gamepad each. Or in front of the monitor if you haven't got your PC hooked up to the TV.

How to Survive is lots of fun!
And as a question to everyone, are Lego Batman games worth it? Would love to play some local coop with my brother but don't know if they're any good.

I find all the LEGO games the same novel: they're fun, usually making soft jokes regarding their theme, but in general, are too casual for most gamers. It's something nice to play along with non-gamers, but the gameplay is too simple and bland, at least for me.

I personally loved it, Lego Batman series are great games to play co-op. (i also recommend other lego games)

Only one LEGO suggestion? Any Game of Bricks! ( That might be actually catchy title for GoT licensed franchise :D.) Even people who don't play games (often girls) will like then.

+1 on the LEGO titles, if you need to start on the series go for LEGO Marvel first.
