Yes,i bought it even tough i am using 7-Zip.The dev team deserves some credit for the complex algoritms that are involved in winrar and the big ammount that you can compress with it,and honestly it's not that expensive.

yes, i bought it, and now i am compressing everything without being nagged. all my desktop is compressed into a neat "desktop shortcuts.RAR" file which takes up a lot less place on my hard drive. and don't get me started on "C:\windows.RAR"...

Winrar has a lot of good features, and one of them is adding recovery record. I'm not sure if any other archive programs have it, but I found it useful.

If you don't need those things, then don't buy it .Download some free ones like 7zip, peazip, etc. and no one can blame you for that :D

Edit: I got Winrar for free from give away of the day. Good site, man. Go for it if you guys are geeks (Or maybe not, lol).
