None and all. A person can be obsessed over something and be a very nice person at the same time. Yes, I've known "fanboys" which were okay. You can't really blame a person for loving something very much. Live and let live.

You can't blame a person for loving something very much. You can't blame them for not respecting disagreeing opinions, silencing or dismissing them and for being obnoxiously closed to logical thinking, tho.

You can*? :P
But yeah, it depends entirely on what you define as a "fanboy".

I wouldn't mind getting a constant 60 FPS, honestly. :P
My CPU is bottlenecking my GPU though. :(

Oh, Steam's fanboys are THE worst. Like when Steam broke the DPA with the caching issue and never really issued and apology for it. The Steam fanboys literally defended their illegal actions.
PCMR is a joke. Tumblr wants it banned for being "offensive", but that's all it is, a joke.
60fps is objectively better though. When you go from 60 to 30, you feel the difference. I don't mind 30 with my pathetic rig, but you can't argue that 60fps is smoother.

Try searching things with -mlp
Btw, not in my life have I seen a single pony online, tbh.

Sword Art Online is the worse when Googling for wallpapers. Used the word "art"? SAO. Used the word "Sword"? SAO. Used any other words and searched for "wallpaper"? SAO.
Luckily, including -sao or -sword -art -online limits the amount of SAO images...

Fanboys are fanboys, the subject matter is of no importance. They're all obnoxious and refuse to listen to reason, so everyone hates them. Only fanboys tolerate each other IF they're fans of the same thing.

Political fanboys I suppose would be my guess
Not necessarily because they're particularly worse to try to talk to, but more so because what they're fanboying about is actually something of some import. So to completely close yourself off to reasonable discussion and be completely unwilling to honestly examine your position on something that actually matters, you're doing yourself a pretty serious disservice as much as you are to anyone else around you or society at large.

Any fanboys which never listen to arguments, and even worse, try to convince you repietedly...

Any fanboys are bad, but Sony and PC master race bullshit warriors are the worst

...furries.... I don't hate all... but enough of them are just too cringeworthy...

I don't think the majority of fans for any game (at least any that I'm familiar with) are particularly terrible; it's just that the obnoxious idiots in the minority are much louder and give the entire fanbase a bad name. Look at Dark Souls. Most players are very nice and reasonable, but there's the obnoxious fanboys who can't comprehend that someone may dislike parts of these games for anything besides the difficulty. It's really the same with any community with hardcore fanboys.

Fans are not the same as fanboys. Fanboys are those that can't see any flaw and don't listen to any argument and just start insulting people with different opinions. Fans are people that like the game / series / company because they enjoy the games. They do see the flaws and actually listen to reason (well most of them anyway).

All the rabid fans who can't deal with the fact that someone might have a different opinion or taste, and keep bashing their opposing side. They all need to chill.

Not by definition, no... it's implied by the people who use it as an insult, sure, but there's enough ignorance that goes both ways... often enough you see people insulting others as fanboys as well, just because they don't bother trying to understand the argument that person is making.

As people said, most fanboys are annoying.
The ones that are most annoying to me though, are the Bethesda fan boys. They just don't want to hear anything bad from those games. And if you come with a list of things that are broken / bad in those games, they always come up with the argument that the games are amazing because of the mods (in my opinion, a game should be rated on how it is vanilla). They're just so annoying.
But the opposite of fanboys are also annoying. The ones that just hate on everything they see of a developer. Recently I've encountered a lot of those people while following the upcoming Total War: Warhammer. A little background: Total War Rome 2's release was horrible (this was back in 2013) and people were enraged. Over time though, they fixed the game (which most devs don't even bother with). Obviously people were concerned when Total War: Attila released in the beginning of 2015. The release of that game was much better though (still had some problems). Now with the new game upcoming I see a lot of people just hating on people that say they pre ordered (even in threads that are specifically about those kind of topics), because in their mind, nobody should have faith in CA.
Personally, I hate (literally) those people more then fanboys. If you go out of your way to just hate on people and complain about everything you see and never say anything good about it, you're just a giant dick in my opinion.

I'm on the edge with TW: Warhammer, on the one hand Warhammer, TW, the info so far looks cool as fuck and they retracted the chaos warrior dlc to be free also for the purchasers on the 1st week, not only preorders. On the other hand... ca and I got screwed with Rome II. I own all the TW but attila and man, I dunno.
also Rome I and Medieval II, best TW so far.

Well, so far, Warhammer looks really promosing. CA seems to have a lot of confidence and they are very transparent with most things (especially now with the campaign streams). I think the release will be fine (definitly not perfect, it's still total war...).
also Rome I and Medieval II, best TW so far.
Kind of disagree with that. They're extremely fun and all, but going back to it now... They just haven't aged very well (although better then some other games). It's full of bugs and glitches. Especially pathfinding in sieges is horrible... Right now, Rome 2 is my personal favorite (although that might also be because I just love the (early) roman era).

You made me remember the gamebreaking bug I got on Rome I all the time, for some reason animated stuff from notifications would not load so if I opened one the game would crash. D:

That's it, which game/product/brand/company/you name it has the worst fanbase?
In my opinion, it would be Blizzard. I know it sounds hypocritical with Tracer both as avatar and steam name, but I swear to god that my interactions with the blizzard community have been dissapointing at best and downright infuriating at worst. It's just people singing praises towards them and treating Blizzard as if it was literally the 2nd coming of Jesus.
