giving keys vs HB link question

So do you always send the HB link via email or do you get the key and then add it on the key area?
Also if you are in North America does it make it so the key is ROW so no problem for users in other regions?

I always use the key. I only ended up once with a restricted key from the Humble Store and it said so when I retrieved the key from the game page.

Depending on bundles/game purchased, your mileage may vary.
