Care to elaborate?
It's using a public API offered by SteamGifts - https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/XFaPQ/json-support, with the admin saying "I setup a few pages on our site to return data in JSON format to help out users developing add-ons and scripts". So I am using the API for its intended purpose.
The guidelines and ToS say nothing about not using it for such purposes.

yeah, not sure about this one. At the same time you could create userscript with the same functionality in your browser and also be logged in...
Based on some parameters you could do alert (with sound?) so you don't miss a flash giveaway or something.

it's useful to new users maybe but longer standing members have filter on giveaways (hide) and also group and whitelist giveaways might be important... It will also post giveaways you own. Maybe filtering to show high chance giveaways could be good, as some post let's say level 5 with 1 hour time and if you are not checking you would miss it...
