9 Years of Service (Giveaways Closed)

It's my 9th Steam Anniversary today. I can hardly believe it's been nine years already since I first reluctantly signed up for a Steam account. All because I just wanted to play some Counter-Strike, but this Steam thingy was suddenly a non-optional nuisance that had to be dealt with first. Why would I want to keep my games on some kind of server? To... download? What? It didn't make any sense at all. Fast forward nine years and, well, I don't need to tell you...

Anyway, this calls for a celebration. And that means some giveaways are in order, and I think nine giveaways sounds about right.

I'm far too lazy (and stupid) to make some kind of elaborate puzzle or whatever, so what I'll do is (are you ready for this, you might want to take a seat and write this down...) link to the giveaways right here:

Yep, nothing too exciting I'm afraid, and these last ones aren't super shiny fancy titles, but they aren't bundle games either, so you might want to come back and check later :p

Thanks to everyone who replied. I enjoyed reading your comments, even if I didn't reply to each single one. People have asked me why I asked entrants to comment on the giveaways. The answer is simple: I wanted to see if people would read and follow a simple request. You can see for yourself how that went.

made a steam account for cs:s soon 2 years ago now.. back in the days in 2005 there are some buddies who was willing that i play "counter-strike" with them, but i didn't accepted

I made a steam account because I heard about insane sales...
I had heard about Steam, but thought it wasn't free to use or something. I also thought only Valve games were playable on it.
Then I bought my first game to be able to add my friends. (my first game was Farm Frenzy 2 btw, also the only game I payed the full price)
Yea lol, I'm a cheapo. Anyways, I'm happy I joined when I did, could be earlier but oh well :)

I registered 2 years ago just because Portal was free, then last year I rejoined (using my old account) and started with my digital Diogenes syndrome, hahhahah

I joined November 13, 2003 and I really don't remember why. I know that I had already registered my original Half-Life games back in the day, so I think when Steam launched and I heard that I could access them again, I went to go check it out. I know that I played a ton of TFC and CS back in the day, but I don't really remember whether that was before or after Steam was launched.

I know that I didn't really invest myself in Steam until 2008, when I bought the Orange Box and truly opened the can of worms.

9 years here also :) It was quite some time ago, but probably main reason for me was to be able to play CS :D Time passes by quickly :P

I'm definitely not feeling old but I do get nostalgic at times :) I have nothing to regret and have whole life before me (hopefully xD) - optimist here ;)

I made my steam account for Portal.. it was well over a year before my account had more than portal on it(as I had no income at the time, buying games was a big no for me)

back when Steam had the green skin, i read about on a gaming website. Made an account but never used it, then i created this one a few years later probably for the sake of it, since i didn't have credit card back then :P

Nice, I wish I'd found Steam that long ago. I joined to buy the original Men of War.

EDIT: Wait, no I didn't. Looking back at my purchase history, I joined to get the free copy of Portal.

Congratulations on being a veteran Steam user! :D

Ahhhh... I still remember making my Steam account... it was because they couldn't properly crack one of Valve's games(not sure which one- might have been Left 4 Dead) and I needed an actual Steam account to run it... then it turned out it didn't even work... ok, actually when I think about it, I don't remember it as being a big deal for me back then. I started using Steam for real 1-2 years ago. :D

I didn't really start using it "for real" until my first purchase of Audiosurf, a Steam indie bundle and the Orange Box in 2008 :).
