It seems the next patch for DBD will bring some rebalance, including a quality of life change for survivors wich (apparently) also allows survivors to WIGGLE FREE FASTER when a Killer picks them up.
Also there is a controversy going on with Leatherface, as they will be removing his mask (or at least 1) s and compensate the players with some currency that manny argue is not enough to justify it.
Matchmake is also very fast for killers but take forever for survivors...implying there are less killers than survviors in matchmake and those changes and controversy only drive killers away even more...

Yeah, I know the community has been very vocal against MMR (specially killer mains). I barely play killer nowadays and, overall, the new MMR system promotes selfishnes... I know hackers are more visible than ever but they have been always an issue and nobody, ever, has stopped playing because of them.
The game is more SWF sided every patch and nobody seems to stay away from playing that much either... and people complains more about SWF than hackers.

I know I've seen a lot of complaints about them, and people quitting because of them, whether or not they actually are I don't know. I do know however the number of active players is dropping, it's still not the majority, but enough.
Me personally, I'm not really playing atm for a combination of reasons, from poor balance, to hackers , annoyed of bugs, especially when they cause CTD's followed by DC penalties, the DC penalty system as a whole, MMR, tho not due to difficulty against high rank, rather the inconsistency of skill levels I get matched with due to how easy it is to rank, etc etc.
In addition, their forum moderation is ridiculous, their customer support is a joke in a lot of cases, and the time it takes them to ban reported hackers is ridiculous. My last report took 16 days to get banned... For 16 days people had the joy of enduring this clown.

Meanwhile me sharing that screen in a thread about the rise of hackers got deleted, with warnings for naming and shaming. The guy was changing his name like every hour until banned tho, I didn't link his account, it's just ridiculous moderation which makes it seem like they're trying to hide the issues.
Sadly though, I'll probably play for the event just cause I still need to level some killers/survivors. So many damn perks at this point it takes ages to unlock everything on everyone.

I have played only a dozen games in all, mostly as killer, but what are we seeing it your pic ? I have no clue. I've always have loved the concept of this game, but there is so much stuff to think about while playing, and i have issues having more than one multiplayer games at the same time (too much time consuming) that i can't invest much in DBD. What do the cheaters do in this game ?

Oh, indeed, i really had a quick look. I thought there would be subtle things, like wallhacks or an equivalent of what we see in shooter FPS where some people have auto-aim but not all the shots go to the target so it seems less supsicious.

Yah, as they said, they were flying. They also used speed hacks, and instantly complete gens by doing like 100 skill checks all at once, you can see it showing the notifications for great skill checks at the top right. In addition they were able to insta heal, wiggle free instantly, etc. There really isn't anything you can't do with the cheats that exist right now.
Ofc, there are also a lot of cheaters who aren't being obvious, they'll use ESP (wallhack) cheats to know where everyone and everything is, but you can't record proof of that. They'll also use speed hacks only when no one is around to see, etc etc. Considering getting cheaters banned is completely reliant on player reports with evidence, there are many cheaters who simply do not get caught.
There was even a youtuber a year or two back who cheat for months and never got banned. He eventually just stopped playing to focus on school. But back then, the problem wasn't to the extreme it is now. You're likely to encounter a cheater every few games, it just might not be obvious, especially if you're not experienced at the game.

Sometimes its subtle, such as +1-3% movement speed. Is so slight that only people who played for thousands of hours can feel. Sometimes its crazy obvious, like this Meg flying or the killer having powers you normally wouldn't have, or unopen-able doors, 200% faster speed zombies for nemesis (a killer) etc. Most of the time though its inbetween the two (+5% speed, subtle instaheals, insta gens, insta open doors when no one is looking), wallhacks or the first scenario.
Have seen and went up against a LOT more of such cheaters these few weeks esp since MMR dropped.

DBD official forum is, with all due respect, a complete garbage. People there is insanely hostile for no reason, moderation is dictatorial and they permaban for talking or posting about the most arbitrary topics, including "trending topics" within the game.
I recommend avoiding those forums, honestly.

I won't even touch their official forums... Steam forums are bad enough with moderation. I've gotten temp banned on it for saying "using hate speech as reasoning to justify full on chat censorship in an adult oriented game is stupid", because that was apparently insulting another user, when that was not what I was doing, I was trashing an idea. The entire conversation wasn't even about removing the chat censor, it was merely about having an option to disable on our end if we desired, since we didn't all want to be treated like children, but many believe we don't deserve that.
Naturally I tried support, and... They flat out refuse support for bans on social media platforms as they put it. Meanwhile Valve refused support since it was a ban based on rules provided by the developers, and not Steam rules themselves, therefor I have to take it up with the developers support. As a result, the moderators have free reign to do whatever they want unchecked, and it becomes dictatorial as well.
That all said, that's how I feel ofc, I could be wrong, maybe people would feel my ban was justified, but my intention was never to insult people... Even if I did apparently break their rule to not insult others, it specifically says in their rules that you will receive a warning the first time, and I never did, it was instantly a ban, so either way, they don't enforce rules properly, and support fails to do anything about it. I've seen many people get banned over nonsense in addition to myself.

I'm fine with them deleting some cosmetics, because some ppl used it in a racist manner, this is why we can't have nice things.
They give you 6000 Shards, which equals about 4 bucks, which is about the cost of the DLC on sale.
Matchmaker speed depends on the time you play, in the evenings there are a lot of survivors, who want to play with their friends, so you have waiting time as survivor, maybe play killer then? In the mornings it's the opposite, more killers than survivors.

I do main killer cause Im too much of an scary cat to play survivor, by simply telling you I cant stand RE1 (not even remake) jump scares, should you tell you how bad I am at dealing with horror games. But the few times I tried survivor, it was eternal and my inexperience along my bad managment of horror and lack of audition (Im half deaf) gets me down 1st in like 4 of every 5 games.
Now 6k shards, not even Cells right?, does that buy you new cosmeti(s) ingame, cause last time I checked the ratio between Cell and Shards was pretty big for cosmetics.

You can buy everything with Cells, with Shards only 50% or so and no cosmetics of licensed DLCs
100 Cells equals 1800 Shards, depends what you want to buy, a yellow outfit is relatively cheap, a whole green outfit costs about 10k shards and a single purple piece will cost 7200 Shards.
On the other side, with each level up of your player level you gain 200-250 Shards

You can get some characters on sale for like 6400 shards I think, but generally 9000 by default. Beyond that, the 6000 doesn't go far, tho it's still a nice chunk. Cosmetics in the game are seriously overpriced, they cost more than actual characters, which I think is ridiculous, but that's just my opinion. I do buy cosmetics with shards since I build up lots from playing a lot.
When it comes to spending real money for cosmetics tho, no way in hell. I'm not paying $10-$20 for a skin. The only thing I can recommend in that regard, is the Rift Pass for 1000 Auric Cells. So long as you do it right, that $10 purchase lasts forever, since you get all cells back if you complete the rift, and the rift is retroactive, so only unlock with cells if you max out. This way you unlock all the skins in it, and can do again later with the cells you got back.

I agree, the purple outfits are pretty expensive, but on the other side, someone have to pay the servers, no one is forced to buy cosmetics, there is no gambling shit, there are "free" cosmetic choices and there are always sales for the cell exclusives, i bought myself 2 Halloween Skins with 75% off, so 300 cells each, and 2 Stranger things outfits with 50% off for 600 cells each. At the moment i'm considering a Ghost face skin for 50% off

Naturally yah, gotta get money for servers, but I still feel it's all overpriced, especially considering the amount of retextures on existing models. $3-$5 per skin, I'd be more than happy to buy some, but beyond that I have to draw the line personally. Stuff I tend to be interested in I never catch on sale either. Either way I'm content though, I've got tons of skins unlocked with Shards and Rift Pass.

They had an large influx of new players this summer, they even mentioned it in their recent devblog and the accordingly decline is just natural and happens to any game, still about 50k peak players per day

Nope. I'm the one who tells those people to look at the charts. However, there has been a small decline in recent months, possibly a result of the cheating issues, but can't say for sure.
I've already mentioned in another post it's a minority of people claiming to be leaving over cheating, and though yes, I am currently dissatisfied with the game to a degree, you'd notice my review remains positive. I will give the game a few months to resolve some of the glaring issues before I write it off completely, as it's had it's up and downs since day one. It's a great game that just happens to be in a horrible state at this moment in time.

The cheating issue isn't that bad. I've encountered maybe 2 cheaters in the past several months and that's after playing 4+ hours almost every day (yeah I play way too much). The reason for the decline is because of the game balance and possibly because of the new MMR. Ever since boon totems were introduced, there's been a decline in people playing killer. The game is currently survivor sided due to that. That doesn't mean that the game is dead or dying though, and my guess is BHVR will change how boons work but that might not happen until March. Realistically DBD won't die as long as BHVR keeps acquiring new licenses for DLC.
Oh, and the cheating issue might be a lot worse depending on which region you're in. I've heard it can be bad on the SEA servers but I can't verify that. Should be fine on US/EU servers

Well naturally experiences will vary. I'm NA East myself, and I had been encountering a fair amount daily, stopped playing just before Christmas, and was just logging in for daily rewards.

I'm in NA East as well. I've been playing since the game came out and I can't remember more than 10 experiences with cheaters. I have 9.5k hours in the game and played during all of the events. There is a theory that if you have max MMR that you'll encounter hackers more though, since hackers should 4k or escape every match and have max MMR so that could have something to do with it as well. But you're right, experiences do vary

Cheating in dbd is a thing and the higher the mmr, the more likely to spot them obviously. Just watch or ask some of the top dbd streamers on twitch. Some cheaters even stream because bhvr doesnt really care.

Naturally experiences vary, but at the same time, sometimes the cheating is so subtle, it's not even noticeable, but still capable of giving clear advantages, such as ESP, or speed boosts for hook rescues, gens, totems, chests, and movement when no one is around to spot it. You'll also get people self caring without self care, hidden out of sight, and the list goes on. It's reasons like this that even non cheaters may get called cheaters in some cases, because so much crap is going on under everyone's nose, all people can do is assume based on experience.
Odds are you're encountering far more hackers than you realize, they're just being very discrete about it.

well, you can also heal yourself with a medkit and there are several Perks in the game, which fastens progress, like Fast Track, Spine Chill or Resilience
but i think i saw a hacker today, ported himself several meters, while in the dying state and healed us miraculously, without even standing near to us, but i won't complain, i got 2 pips this trial and the killer was a pig

I'm well aware of all the perks and mechanics in the game, I have 2300 hours in it, it's my most played game on Steam. Point I was trying to make is people are using cheats to gain information and perform tasks they should not be able to do, due to not using perks or items, and so on. Often doing things out of sight so that you can't prove with recordings, since they know recordings are the only way they'll get banned.
As a player who unlike most, uses awareness perks more than anything, I can tell you I see a lot of sus. Solo survivors who's aura's I see knowing I'm coming and attempting to hide, despite me being stealth, their vision being blocked, and not using any perks that would warn them of my approach. To being a survivor using Bond and seeing the aura of my teammate healing nearby, despite not having a medkit, self care, or boon circle of healing anywhere around. To having a perkless killer know I'm over behind a rock in an area of the map nowhere near a generator., etc etc.
Many players won't spot a lot of the stuff I do, given the perks they use, or not having as much experience with the game, but the more you play, the more it becomes noticeable.
Still, cheaters are a minority of the playerbase, but... There are still enough to make encountering them a regular occurrence if you play daily.

I used to main Bubba and haven't gotten my shards yet. They said it could take up to 24 hours, so I'm just waiting until then and if I don't get them by then I'll contact support. I played him enough to unlock all of the masks (which isn't a requirement)

I've refunded already. If I'm getting the shards, I should be able to get them even I've played with family sharing. Because in the published update note, it says people who have played with this character at least once before the mid-chapter update, not people who have the dlc.
There were offerings to play with characters we didn't own a long time ago. Even people who have played with it should get the shards.
Also in the post above says, people that have never owned dlc or played Leatherface got shards. Even the account that owns this dlc and I play with family share hasn't received the shards yet.

i made an account on their forums, because i thought i would need it and after every tweet there are people complaining about no shards, i think there was only one user, who wrote he got shards, after their first tweet, the one with their cracks. There were one tweet before about the shards issued, but at that point it wasn't clear, that their compensation sucked and left out a lot of people

Don't contact their support team since they won't do anything because they've been told that the devs are handling it. So it's a waste of time. Just have to wait it out like the rest of us unfortunately.
Posting that you're still missing shards on the BHVR forum or Twitter is fine though. They tend to take notice more on the official forums I think, but it's more of an awareness thing, mods on there can't do much about it

My friend and I are playing this game since 2017. He bought this Leatherface dlc the day it was released. Then I played as Leatherface for years after the family sharing was opened for dlcs.
