To answer your Question why we give bought games to random people away i want to complain it shortly from my side.
I am not always giving Games away but from time to time when i am in the right mood.Sometimes i drop those simply in chats or create a SG Giveaway but in the paste i dropped more.You wanted to know why we do it , well , you do not have to have much money to give a game nowadays away.You can get those so cheap and you also get back some from others but this is not the point.It's might a normal human feeling to do something good for others or just to get rid off of it.I do it just so cuz i want it to do and might it helps my karma like some says but not every question in form off this Topic can completely been answered.

Life can be pretty punishing at times. Doing small good deeds by making strangers' days a little bit better does make me have hope in my future. It also makes me believe that by doing good to others, good things will happen to me.

My reason has always been to make people happy. Even if they don't play it, seeing that they won something makes them happy. And I like giving everyone chances, which is why most of my giveaways are public with no level restriction. If I made a group or whitelist giveaway and a friend wins it.. yeah that's awesome! But.. sometimes strangers deserve to win as well. Sometimes you can make a new friend that way! I just like making people happy. I used to have a huge giveaway group where I would give away a game every Sunday, and people loved it. It made me happy to see them happy because of me. I wish I didn't have to close it, but I had no more money and couldn't continue. But every once in a while I still give away games here and I just like making people happy.

To answer your question, well... technically, I don't spend money for giveaways, I just buy bundles for myself,
and make giveaways for the games I already own, or don't interest me.
I would rather give those games to someone who might want them, rather than activating them just for the +1 in my library, or to get the card drops.
