Community train 4.0 is gonna need a team of people keeping up with it! I'm glad this event went huge. Every day, I would go to sleep, then wake up to being like 500 carts behind. I entered a ton of the giveaways and only won 1. (Not complaining, I got Portal Knights, it's a pretty good game!)

Wow, that's some major damage on that laptop. My first laptop's hinges broke and sort of looks like the first image hinge wise. I didn't even move around or travel so I have no clue what happened. Thankfully, I was able to get a new one after doing an internship. For awhile though I was using the broken laptop with the broken hinges, but worst of all was the broken cable that feeds data for the screen causing green tints or like screen static (i'd have to twist and move the cable to temporarily fix it). After a while I some how got a bit used to it. Hopefully, you get a new one soon too.

I have never had so much fun in Steamgifts. Of course, it's also true that I've only been in the community for seven days so... how? that actually eight months have passed? what the hell???

I was kinda late bloomer, seen the beggining of the event, entered a few GAs, made GA with my spare humble key and forgot about it, then had another spare key, dumped it without even checking the train and forgot again, it wasn't until less than a week that I lurked forums (as I do much less nowadays than I used to, hence delay ;p) and stumped onto it again, train was massive already back then, went in, clicked for like 2h and I saw what was probably supposed to be a joke from Superfabs how he would make Monster Hunter World if we reach 4k in like 3 days. I know Fabs on SG for a long time, been in various events and groups together, so I started pushing it towards not really to see this GA but to screw up with him ;p I never thought we would get to actual 4k in just 3 days, I just wanted to make him feel uneasy because "what if...". Then in the end I spent all my 3 time next 3 days almost exclusively riding the train and had a blast. Been months if not years since I had this much fun on SG. Only thing I regret is I didn't jump in sooner, hopefully will not make same mistake next year ;p So thank you Fiddler, thank you for reminding me why I once loved this community so much and why I kept spending hours upon hours on forums, chat etc ^^

As Fiddler said, your push was the motivation behind a ton of carts being added (including many of mine), a joke/non-joke/meme being born ("zelghadis's cause" or here) and a ton of fun! Honestly I had missed Superfabs's (hypothetical?) desire for the train to reach 4K, but you were the one (to me, anyway) who set and hammered the "4K train!" until it caught fire and took off!

This was the most fun I've had since joining SG.

Next year, let me know if you want some help with the organization / tracking / whatever. I really enjoyed making a few giveaways, and answering easy questions, and identifying possible derailments... but I'd be happy to take a bigger role if that would be helpful. Just let me know!

It was a super-fun event, and a very nice capstone to my 7-month anniversary! (I can't say I'll exactly miss being constantly at 0 points and ignoring my wishlist :P ... but I kinda do. :D )

For your next one, I can recommend "MIL-spec" grade laptops as being able to take a whole lot more punishment than some others (of course one still needs to be careful, but they are a lot more forgiving than regular ones). Of course, Mil-spec laptops are not for everyone, as they are not necessarily designed for gaming, and sometimes a bit pricier than a "regular" laptop. (I can provide a few links regarding them if you'd like to know more.)

I went shopping for a ssd for my laptop and was astonished and shocked at the price difference between a ssd for a desktop and one for a laptop. Also, being locked to a soldered GPU is a shame (outside of using a tb3 port for the Razer Core V2 Thunderbolt 3 gpu dock--if one's laptop even has a thunderbolt 3 port--and then you still need a new GPU and an external monitor...at which point you might as well get a docking station :P )
On the other hand, have fun carrying your tower, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and coffee and chips from room to room. :D :P

I would like to begin this post by apologizing about how long it took me before i finally started writing this. but i kinda wanted to wait till everyone forgot about the event and it was no longer relevant.
When I first made the 3.0 event , i didn't think we would pass 500 GAs in it. not gonna lie and say i had any faith what so ever.
But then we reached 1000 in the blink of an eye. to say i was surprised would be an understatement. that's when i had more faith. faith that we would reach 2000 maybe , and even that was a bit of a reach. repeat again for 3000. cause for some reason you people enjoy proving me wrong. made me look like an idiot every time i called it. lucky i wasn't betting money or i would've been paying you people to ride the train.
The thing is , i am just an organizer. the only thing i do is keep the table updated, manage the carts, and give people directions when need be. And believe me when i say that you people didn't make that easy. Most of the time i was soo behind on the table by a lot , once even got 700 GAs behind because of how fast the train was going. basically hijacked the train and made me run behind it. lucky for me i had 2 secret weapons to help keep the train on track (shitty pun?) ICaio & Canis39. Was lucky they decided to help with organizing the event , while dumping a Metric Shit ton of games on the train. I would go to sleep and wake up in the morning to them already having answered most questions that were posted while i was off.
As i was saying , i am just an organizer. the ones that made this event were you people. As a wise man once said, I am just holding this cats tail.
As for the ones that were complaining about how they didn't win anything. please don't. just don't .ran with this event and organized it for a whole month , i didn't win anything either. but i didn't make this event to win. the event isn't about how much you can win. its about coming together as a community and having a good time.
Even though i didn't win anything , i still enjoyed the event . hell , i am already planning on how to improve next years Community Train. complaining and saying how you wasted your time cause you didn't win anything is extremely insulting to everyone that contributed to the event. so please don't.

Sorry if i missed anyone , but there were a lot of names to write down. So if i did miss your name , then please comment with a link to your cart and i will add you to the post.
I was gonna add a lot of stats to the post, how many points it will take to enter everything , how many lvl 0 , 1, 2, and 3 GAs. and most enterd GAs with the names of people who created the most GAs.
But then this happened. (see pictures below)
Was moving and i forgot to secure my laptop and now its fucked beyond repair. Lost the hard drive too.(and all that juicy stats about the train). So now i have it plugged into a screen i got from a GoodWill cause the screen wont work anymore and i doubt the repair cost would be worth it. So i am job hunting. Probably will see a decline in the number of GAs i make here till i get a new PC. ( only way to get this guy started now is to jam a screwdriver in the power button and wiggle it around til it starts , so the scratches).
So Yes , kinda fucked for a while.
Luckily i had this draft saved on cloud , so i didnt have to rewrite the names and links. Just had to do final edits ( was gonna add Stats after i was done with that). So it will have to do till next train.
But i digress. Thank you everyone that made this possible and see you next year for the next train.
