Hi everyone!

I need some advice with some parts I am ordering to configure a new PC for my brother.

I picked these parts: https://www.tones.be/particulier/cart/view?c=3acb3719a1cd88b6d61e5e50dd7420da55c8a27519432

What do you guys think about this, because I am not really that familiar anymore with building a new one (its been a few years since I have done this).

Few notes:

I know that a 120GB SSD is not enough for everything but I already have a 1TB HDD that will do.
His budget is 800 euro's so I am already going over budget so take that in mind.
Also, I know that website probably asks a lot but I need warranty in my own country.

I am leaving some keys here to thank you for helping me with this. And I will leave some in the comment section!

Just on a very quick look first.. would there be room in the budget to at least go to i7 instead of i5, and have a cheaper power supply (as a 500w ought to run the 380 ok I believe? Seems a pity not to have quad core..

Oh, and keys got ninja'd at time of posting this... it's the one thing that really annoys me, keys taken without even a thanks.

nearly all desktop i5 CPUs with 1150 socket are quad core, only the 4570T one is dual core with HT

Yep, you're right, I was thinking with my mobile/laptop brain when I posted.. doh. Ah well, apart from that, I'd still be looking to go for better CPU and save on the PSU ideally.

If you have enough money to buy an R9 380, don't bottleneck it with a CPU like that. Get an i5 4690 at least, preferably an i5 4790.
Also, get ready to buy another 8 GB of RAM within a year.

PSU seems very expensive. You should be able to find a suitable one from a good manufactorer like be quiet for like 60+€. Apart from that , I recently built a very similar PC for a friend of mine. Same CPU, also a R9 380, runs pretty good. With the cheaper PSU it totalled 810€.

You could upgrade the CPU if you have the budget but it's not neccessary.

I'll second what others have said, that PSU is not really needed. You could probably drop down to about 500W and still have plenty of room left (though do double check that, ATI/AMD graphics cards tends to be quite power hungry compared to their nvidia counterparts). And do you really need a fully modular PSU? If you want to avoid having a lot of spare cables in your computer, go semi-modular, it's cheaper (though personally I would not spend any extra money on a modular or semi-modular PSU, it's rarely needed).

I changed it to this one: PSU. Is this good enough?

That looks a lot more reasonable. I still think it's a bit pricey, but in terms of power it gives you room for expansion. I did a check on what the recommended PSU-size would be for your computer (adding in an optical drive, don't know if you'll have one), and it came out at 458 W (recommended), and a load wattage of 408 (meaning that you can get by with 408 W under heavy load, but with component aging and a bit of expansion room in mind, about 458W would be the recommended PSU)
Without an optical drive, 378W load wattage and 428W recommended
I still don't see the need for a modular PSU though.

He doesn't need an optical drive, if needed I will share mine over network. But we never use one! With a modular PSU are the cables included? The reason is because I don't see a non modular one on that website that fits the purpose of enough Watt. I rather have him buy 500W so when he needs to upgrade in the future. I myself have a 500W (B brand) and it works well.

I've never come across a modular PSU that did not have more than enough cables. It might be worth buying the PSU from somewhere else if you can find it cheaper.
The computer will only require 378W at full load, so going overboard with the PSU is a waste of money. Something like this would probably be more in line with what's appropriate (in particular considering that you mentioned that you were already a bit over-budget above).

This site is good for calculating how powerful a PSU needs to be for any given computer.

I agree with hagehage, the PSU seem overpriced and has more power than neccessary but this shop seem to have only corsair if he wants a modular one. This system should need around 300W under load so you can take the 550 or even 450.

i5? Are you really buying that crap??
Buy the Intel Celeron instead of that crappy i5. Much better and cheaper.
