Who let the dogs out?
Have a question (it is not a nice one, so sorry):
why does your mother feels that she needs to buy a dog? (i'm assuming that it's a buy since you know the species and names - if not, doublt sorry)
don't know where you are from, but most countries there are a lot of dogs who are homeless. a lot more dogs who are used for breeding only for money, usually on a greymarket scale (not criminal, but close to).
anyway, if i get BL fine. just don't like animal trade think it is wrong.
and for the record, i eat meat (all kinds).

actually the worst i got was Kangaroo (when in Australis) and crabs.

She had a Shih Tzu when she was a kid as well as a Pomeranian. It was quite normal to own breeds back then, even as a working class family. She turns 60 this year and she's just recovered from hip surgery and trying to make huge changes in her diet and lifestyle. The puppy is her treat to herself. If I had to equate it to something it would be the same as old men buying toys from their youth as they relapse into a second childhood, something which I know is a booming business.
The puppy will be fixed and not produce its own offspring. It will be loved, well cared for and not just a fashion accessory. We have known the breeder personally for years, so we're quite confident in the quality of lifestyle for the mother dog called Lexie. Lexie doesn't have more than one litter a year.
We know about homeless animals, two of the cats we've adopted in the past have come from shelters, one from a farm, one from being put down and another from our next door neighbour who had difficulty looking after the cat after his wife died. Unfortunately you can't adopt the world and it's up to others to spay/neuter their pets and make sure they're prepared for the commitment all animals require.
I'm more concerned about the amount of humans who are abandoned if I'm honest. ._.;

My mother is getting a puppy.
It will be born at the end of September.
It will be a Shih Tzu.
If it's a boy she intends to call it "Ramsay" after my maternal Grandmothers maiden name.
If it's a girl it will be called "Fleur" for no reason in particular.
As a cat person I cannot contain my enthusiasm.
So here is a puzzle to "celebrate":
http://www.itstoohard.com/puzzle/phX4YzZD
Three games possible to win. Level 1-3.
