That's a bundle site, not a store (BS, IG and Humble have stores in their sites :P)

I bought there Bioshock, Duke Nukem Forever, Saints Row 4 - all for steam.

But I also bought there all Tomb Raiders from first one to underworld without on-line DRM (there is still keycheck during install, not sure if completely DRM-free after installing)

Yeah, I've talked to them. They're pretty active on LowcyGier.pl , but that's in Polish. Someone asked them the same question and they said "yes we are".

Most of those are digital retailers, not resellers. They get the keys directly from developers/publishers. Kinguin, G2A and Co. on the other hand are resellers.

Bad Juju = IndieRoyale (not IndieGala)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

oh okay, never bought an Indie Royale bundle, because their prices and the games the offer are so bad, only got one for free once from a Twitch giveaway, once there was one good bundle with Sniper Elite v2, but I'm glad I decided not buying it, after some time that game was given for free to everyone on Steam.

So won't be a loss, at least to me, but a about Desura, I didn't like use Desura a lot, but it's nice having it. Desura is from Bad Juju too no?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

well, i bought most debut bundles. and they gave me a constant flow of new greenlit games. Also, in the past you could even get 2 keys for each greenlit game by first getting your key in Desura, then on the bundle page. so in total, i got a lot out of IndieRoyale. i think it's a shame, if we won't have this anymore in the future.

After reading the item descriptions on this guy's sales... I am guessing not GamesGalaxy

Get this... the seller responded to an email I sent and further explained that you actually had to DISCONNECT from the internet prior to playing...

Here's an annotated screenshot for those that don't wish to follow the link:

It's got a be a lucrative way to go... I mean think about it: You have no overhead because you don't have a physical store, don't have staff because you stole the games and someone else's work, and get paid by people who prefer to pay for stolen items because they want to give their money away. I mean the only real downside could be the prison roommate if you get caught and convicted... he brews his "wine" in the toilet and likes to cuddle...

Actually, Green Man Gaming isn't fully official. They were involved with Sniper Elite 3 revoked keys and now they sell Witcher 3 against CDPRed wishes.
But 99,(9)% of times they are fully legit and official and all.

Well, people reported their GMG keys were revoked. Hard to say whom to believe - company or users - as everybody lies.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Devs also said they didn't revoke any keys sent to GMG.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

it also wouldn't make too much sense. as far as i know, GMG gets their keys directly from the publisher, while G2A & Co sell retail keys. in that case retail copies were stolen, and only those keys were revoked. i know there were a few people who claimed that their GMG keys were revoked, but as psyko said - hard to know the truth.

A bump for those who don't like the steam winter sale and searching for alternative ways... the most stores have sales running.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It's the publisher and not the platform that's important. Since the issues with CDPR and The Witcher 3 several publishers have stated that GMG aren't an authorised seller

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

A fail meeting for partnership with CDPR dont make them unauthorized STEAM retailers :)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It's not Steam (Valve) that authorize a seller it's the publisher of the game on question. Activision, Ubisoft and CDPR have all stated that GMG aren't licensed to sell their products. It doesn't matter whether the games are to be redeemed on Steam, Uplay, Origin, Galaxy or whatever

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

But didn't Square Enix and EA jump in an say that GMG is an authroized seller of their games?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

The only other specific I'm aware of is Warner Brothers who initially stated they weren't authorized then later retracted that statement. It doesn't change the fact that the point I was making still stands - it's the publisher and not the platform that is responsible for that authorization and just because a store is authorized to sell Game X doesn't mean they are also authorized to sell Game Y
