So I bought myself Gmod, and I know that this game is all about doing crazy shit.

But I'd like to have some mod recommendations, because there are so many I can't view every mod on Steam Workshop!

So, do you peeps have some good recommendations for mods to use?

Find one that interests you

Edit: I'm not sure if WireMod and Phoenix Storm are in workshop, get them if they're not.

subbed to wiremod, but I'd like to have my mods on steam workshop. I'm to lazy to download and add them in a folder manually.

Thx.

PHX is a very essential mod. SVN isn't hard to set up and SVN means it autoupdates.

If you have friends to play with, Ultimate Chimera Hunt is really a fun mode. :)

Silverlan's npcs and also GM Tower is a pretty good server with all sorts of modes. Most of the stuff you had to go find was included in the 13 update like the phx pack.

Phoenix has been a standard part of Garry's Mod since 11.

Garry's Mod has been ruined ever since he made the leap from 11 to 13. I absolutely HATE Workshop and the new addon system, and thanks to Garry my 200GBs of Garry's Mod addons are now all unusuable unless I'm willing to go throw and modify every damn config file. What's even worse is he won't fix the spawnlists, the RPG light or the game redownloading previously installed addons.

The best addon you can get is one that reverts Garry's Mod 13 to Garry's Mod 11.

I can still use my latest addons thanks to Legacy Addon. Also workshop is a faster way to download stuff, you don't have to download a file and put it on the right folder.

Because that is so hard

But still it saves time and updates the addon when the creator does it.

SVN anyone?

The problem with workshop if you ask me is, that there is simply too much crap there and I for one find it harder to find addons I look for than on Garrysmod.org or the usual google->SVN

Workshop > SVN
I don't need to install other near-useless program just to update my addons.

You just admitted that you think the workshop is near-useless, no?

What?
Workshop is already integrated to Steam, which is a client to play Gmod. It's not a bloated third-party program I have to install to keep up-to-date with my addons.

Also if you have trouble of finding good addons, learn to use sort and tag feature on Workshop.

Is most of your addons are models pack? If that's so, you should just move them to addons folder. Gmod will detect them as legacy addons and still load those models. If those are scripted addons like SWEP etc, well then you have to find new version or beg the addon creator to update it. Most of popular addons are already converted to Gmod 13 anyway.

Also what's wrong with the spawnlist, and I never have issue of Gmod redownloading my addons. But I presume your addon is updating, not redownloading.

Just go to workshop and look for the top rated ones. Top ratings means good mods.

Too many pages to look at. Also there could be a few under rated ones.
