So, long story short I finally bit the bullet and got a proper desktop gaming set up. I am so excited it's kinda stupid, so I hope it lives up to my internal hype here. I already own hitman 1 and 2, so I figure that'll Keep me occupied for a while.... But I already want to plan out what I'm going to play next!
I've been gaming on integrated graphics my whole life, so Ive never really payed much attention to the stuff I obviously couldn't run.

Anyway, what are your game recommendations for things I might've missed out on? For the sake of conversation assume that I can run anything.

Disco Elysium. It's hard to beat this one in the department of writing (and it's also perfect in any other aspect you can think of). Also, it's a brilliant mix of an RPG and an adventure game, so you kinda try your hand at two genres at once. Also, it's reasonably priced (that's a nice bonus).

First, try out the 3d Mark benchmarking tool.
That's been a staple diet for over a decade whenever people upgraded their PC components.
It's "just" fancy graphics but may make you go "wow!"
Edit: https://www.3dmark.com/
Legacy benchmarks may be a laugh too.

I guess that he could run Skyrim even on the built-in video card... But if not, then this MUST be played! This is for 4 months for you to complete the whole game and all the quests! 😊

As someone who first started playing Skyrim on an integrated card, and then continued after stepping up to a proper gaming rig, I can honestly say that it is well worth revisiting. Adding in some graphic enhancement mods and HD textures, on top of whatever gameplay mods you like, really does make it feel like a different game.

I am thinking "games which are good, but are also graphic-wise impressive", did I get it right?

If you meant instead "PC exclusives" or something else, let us know!

Control, Witcher 3, Metro Exodus, if you can run these on ultra, it is completely different experience than on low

I would very much recommend Subnautica.
It's a fantastic game and story, and although the visuals are a cartoon-y realism style, they are still stunning.

If you don't mind of survival horrors, try RE series. At least RE2R.
RE Engine is known for its character detail and RE2R has good body-physics and dismemberment.

And definitely Skyrim or Skyrim SE 😊❤️

I haven't mentioned any good indie games because they run on an integrated graphics card and you may have played or heard about them before =)

If you are looking for games that are both good and will take advantage of your hardware for better graphics, I'd recommend Monster Hunter: World, Nier: Automata, and Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice.

If you are looking for games that are more about the "PC experience", maybe checkout some strategy games like Stellaris or Crusader Kings III, or some unclassifiable indies like Noita or Kenshi.

The Witcher 3
Red Dead Redemption 2
Days Gone
Mafia Definitive Edition and Mafia 2: Definitive Edition
Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Since you played Hitman 1 and 2, you should play Hitman 3 too
Watch Dogs, and Watch Dogs 2 is fun
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Heavy Rain
Detroit Become Human
Beyond Two Souls
Dying Light
Assassins Creed series, I recommend going in order from First to Last
Splinter Cell series
Kingdom Come Deliverance
Max Payne series
Batman Arkham series
Mad Max

If you are into Racing/Simulation:
F1 2021
Assetto Corsa
Forza Horizon/Motorsport series
Project Cars 2
Need for Speed series

Portal 2

It is the best game of the steam (according to the reviews) and believe me, you will understand why when you play it.

Portal 1 is pretty good as well so I would suggest to play it before 2, if you haven't yet.

(few more indies you should check -> INSIDE, Firewatch, Little Nightmares)

If you have access to a VR Headset, you owe it to yourself to play Half-Life Alyx.

Apart from that, the original Crysis still looks incredible and is a fun sandbox to play around in. Wolfenstein games by Machine Games.

Doom 2016 and Eternal are absolutely must play titles. Mortal Kombat 11 and Injustice 2 if you love games with amazing story lines.

Hades, fallout new vegas, dishonored, prey, paper please, subnautica, horizon zero dawn, red dead redemption 2, resident evil 4. Honestly speaking, a lot of choices are available depending on your preferences.

Stardew Valley, The Long Dark.

Technically they don't need the best pc, but I'm thinking of games worth their money that you can replay.
