probably because Origin games are more expensive than Steam...
not sure why though..

When it comes to Call Of Duty games it is. Black Ops is £40 and came out in 2010. Mass Effect 3 is £10 and came out in 2012.

1: Buying anything on it means money for EA.
2: People getting banned on origin forums get banned from playing single player games.
3: EA.
4: People don't like to have more than one game distributing DRM installed, so they want only the best, aka steam.
5: EA.
6: EA.
7: IMO, its UI is kinda poor if you have a lot of games.

EA = very greedy(and more if you live outside US), and Origin is just a pile of crap of program, also idiotic method to connect to game servers that obligates you having an opened browser window, you can add same game twice because their system doesn't detect that you already have the game when you activate it, etc.

i do not origin, i kind dislike of idea about EA release the newest PC games as origin exclusive but that's all.
What i really hate is the uPlay and the older GLFW when some steam games use it for the simple reason of being double DRM layer... 2 clients, 2 accounts and in result the double o troubles...

they are contantly losing my login information and every few weeks i have to change my password to regain access to my account. And after doing that im waiting ~12-24h for email with "change password link" so if i would like to play something tomorrow i would have to use "forgot password" option today ...

It's more about the company behind Origin, EA is the cancer of the gaming industry. Every game developer they buy, they turn the game franchise into a cash grabbing monstrosity, they totally wreck the IP for the fans.
Mass Effect 3 (Bioware) -> Biggest disappointment ever, combat system clunky as hell, a real step backward from Mass Effect 2
Star Wars The Old Republic (Bioware) -> Yeah let's ditch the whole single player immersive RPG experience, let's do an MMO with microtransactions.
Yet the worst of all is the DLC (Battlefield) or the Pay-to-Win (Battlefield F2P) system.

Not working friends list that were not fixed for almost 1 year, poor security (there is some forum where hackers from "East EU" easly steals lots of accounts just for fun), spying users computers, really bad comunication with friends through origin, overlay is most of the time broken, bad design of client and overlay.

My (RL) friend and I were talking, and we were wondering, why all the hate for Origin? I know EA isn't the greatest company. I know they botched BF4. But what's so bad about the Origin service? That friend and I have been using it for a couple of years now, since KoA, and have found it to be decent. I know it's a steam wannabe but so is Uplay (Ugh, Ubisoft).
So why does everyone hate Origin so much?
