for a while valve was posting a news item on the game's community page explaining it, but I don't think they are doing that anymore, or I haven't seen it in a while anyway.

If you visit the games News or Discussions pages, you may have a chance to read why its banned.
If a game is banned, its generally because the developer has violated the terms signed with Steam. One way to cause this is to create fake positive reviews by the developers.In such cases, Steam ends the contract with the developer, removes the game from store, removes the trade cards from the market...

No, as Valve is the corporation, and Steam is a service. A game may be removed from Steam, but it's Valve who makes the removing. While the arguement is pointless, he was correct :D

The corporation Valve doesn't remove anything either, they are a non-physical entity. It's the people who work for them that do the removing by pressing buttons.
