If you haven't noticed yet, there's a roles list here.

They should be able to brutally murder anyone that misbehaves. Just kidding!
Or am I?

Usually we get Bear to eat them, but we've had to make do with murk lately. Not going to lie, it's entertaining for the first 5 minutes but after a few hours it gets boring.

Only if you're buying. Otherwise we normally get a carry out and jump on top of a tank.

I am all for equality. Which means you can buy the drinks.

Bear enjoys a Malibu Cocktail.
Clown enjoys a Blue Hawaiian.
Murk prefers a Mojito.
Ceebers likes a Margarita.
Bain takes a Pina Colada.
I tend to go with Captain Morgans Spiced Rum, with a little Umbrella on top.

Oh? In that instance take a case of something and we'll take Bear, cause we'll need something to throw the empties at.

I'm assuming that they're drowning in support tickets, and so they aren't actively looking though profiles finding people to suspend.

That's not exactly true, I often see users with non-activated wins creating a thread then getting suspended because a mod/support examined their profile.

It's not like we go on the forums for the purpose of finding people to ban though >.<

There was a regifter who posted yesterday I think and he got instabanned. That was funny :D
By the way, how do you find them? For example, I won Waveform months back, but I did a GA for a copy I bought after the summer sale to give back. How do you sort the regifter from the "won the game, but gave back another copy"?

I was under the impression that the current crew is pretty light-touch on forum behavior.
We used to have a couple of mods that took a more Gestapo-like approach ... and frankly, the only difference I have noticed in retrospect is fewer "I was unfairly banned" threads.

Mmm yes. I quite disliked that mod honestly. I'm glad he stepped down - more for his sake than ours. It seemed like his forum-banning proclivities really took a mental toll on him in real life.

Nah, just that there was an infamous mod before that took a really hard-line stance on behavior. I didn't totally disagree with him, but his harsher penalties never stuck ... apparently cg didn't want to perma-ban people. So when those people came back, they usually just continued doing what they were doing since a few days from the site isn't much of a deterrent.

I think that it's good they are active in the forums, not only because they can handle suspensions and close threads when needed, but also because there are users that need help with something or have questions.
If they only sticked to answering tickets, the forums would quickly turn to hell.

They should be your father figures. Giving you pocket money and good advice while sitting in a chair, smoking a pipe and reading newspaper :D

What do you guys think the role of support/moderators members should be? Should they only answer tickets, or should they actively be patrolling the forum to suspend people for bad behavior? Do you think they should look at the profiles of users to punish those who break the rules? Discuss.
My opinion is that they should answer support tickets and hunt out users who don't activate their games. I rather like lightly-moderated forums. I remember there was a former mod who used to ban people in the forum quite capriciously. That person is gone now though and I don't really see the mods removing comments and closing threads that often anymore.
