Y, when the price drops so does the cv value and so your level can go down

Yes, it can happen if:
-A game you've given away gets added to the bundle list. As games are added manually, there might be a delay between a game getting bundled, and getting added to the list.
-A game drops in price.

Was your Northmark: Hour of the Wolf giveaway marked "Received" before ?

Does misuse of giveaway feedback refer only to users who make fake giveaways to boost cv or also winners who purposely lie about the feedback despite receiving the game?

both

how can giving fake giveaway be misuse of giveaway feedback? its not fake feedback but giveaway itself
misuse of feedback is only the other option in my opinion

Step 1. Your friend makes a fake private giveaway for GTA5 and give you the link
Step 2. You win and mark it as received so he can level up without gifting anything
Step 3. You're both permanently suspended

yes but i mean about when someone creates a fake public giveaway like you can see some dark souls 3 or so giveaways which users create 5 mins after registering and who wins doesnt make as received

Then it's not misuse of feedback

Doesn't it take 5 entries to gain CV? (for everything except public ga's)

Yes, but it doesn't really matter if they succeed or not

The better question is, why do we lose levels if we gave away a game before it was bundled... Seems like a poor programming decision.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

We don't.
If you give away a game before the bundle goes live, you will receive full value.

Ahh, okay. I just misunderstood. Thanks for the clear explanation! :)

You only get a decrease if you give away a game after it is bundled, but before it is marked as bundled on SG (usually it is matter of hours, but sometimes it may take a few days).

If you give away a game before it appears in a bundle, you get the full value.

You dont lose levels when it becomes bundled, you lose value when the product price decreases. It tracks a product's bundle date and checks yes/no and takes off a percentage if yes. But it only references the current steam price, not its price history.

So if a $40 game later becomes a $30 game, you could potentially lose a level on SG?

Permalink

Unfortunately, yes. Price changes are retroactive, bundle status is only so if your giveaway was posted after the bundle date.

Got it. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I was level 2 for 1 month. None of my GA games were marked as Bundles. Every game I give came from Bundles. So that decreased level is due price drop I guess.

Best ask TJ above what support category to use and what proof you will have to provide.

Why do you need to contact the steamgifts support? Level decrease is normal here.

Changing giveaway feedback from received to not received is not.

Geez, that is such a specific card. XD I can't imagine that ever having a place in a decent deck. Even a side deck would question why it exists.

Mine decreased from 1+ to 0 and I got no response from their Support Group. Figured it out when I found out Steam had made the game Free To Play. So I purchased another bundle and put the whole bundle in. Now I'm at 1+ again

Its probably because o gaveaway Orion. This game value decreased to 0, so that mean you lose your points.

wellcome to this web where the people who payed a full price of game for giveaways are punished Vs the people who buy a bundle game for the only purpose of level up.......

Exactly. That's why almost no one wants to make non-bundled GAs. It's a shame.

what you guys should do, it's don't lower the level for the people who gifted the game before bundle game/ free game.

i think will be very easy for you guys do that.
something like every time the web system lower the level of anyone give to them the same amount of level lost automatic.

or create a fictional game where you change the value for each account. and do the same than above but whit one game inserted by the admins of this web.

idk i'm sure there can be an option for don't punish the "nice" people Vs the "bad" people

hope i explain well, the english isn't my native lenguage

don't lower the level for the people who gifted the game before bundle game

That's already how it works. If I make a giveaway for a non-bundle game today, and tomorrow a bundle with that game is released, it will not affect my level.
What can happen is that someone gives away a game that should be on the bundle list, but hasn't been added yet. Those people will have their level adjusted once the game is added to the list. If you are actually suggesting that their level should not be reduced, then the whole level system is pointless because everyone will be level 10 by giving away bundle games really quickly before we get a chance to add them to the bundle list.

About games that became free, the admin is supposed to fix them and change their value to the last known price, it's just that it always take a long time before he does.

I only give games I already own or doesnt like. I buy Bundles because worth it more often than buying separately. Then you suggest I have to activate Keys of games I dont like instead of giveaway.

but for example how many people in that web have been given away any game (non bundle or free or just shit games that no one want) whitout thinking in level up? i mean the tipic post where people put the key and the first to get / first served.

i saw some of that post but all was shit games that no one want.

in my case i given away some games to "random" people, but nice games not only shit games. games that i spend my money and i don't get a single 0.0000001% of level because i givenaway via forum.

it happens, i have lost my level 7 about 10 times now,i have probably lost about $500 in CV over all,it would be nice if they locked in your CV at the price it was when you gave it away but im guessing that would take them to much storage or something so nothing you can do about that really just give away more games and you'll be back up to level 2 or more in no time the first few levels more really fast:)
