The entire Eastern seaboard of the US is totally dark on the internet. I am surprised this site is managing to connect sometimes.

Seems to be. Comcast, Verizon, and At&T all seems to be dead in the tri-state area, Florida, Midwest, and California. So, where most of the large provider servers are.
Funny enough, Steam reports most European servers dead, including storage ones, but for me it seems to work.
