This is strange
Usually ** is given to games that were given away for free
But I'm pretty sure EA couldn't be givingaway this game on Steam.

Strange indeed, if it was free at some point, I'm honestly shocked I never got it.

Need for Speed Heat was added to the No Value list on 15 July 2021.

Can't find any evidence it was ever free around this time though

It was given away for free last year as part of an Intel giveaway event promoting their gaming app.

Wasn’t that an Origin code though?

It was the Origin key. Also STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order** Origin too.

as the above posts say, I remember this well, it was ORIGIN only. If it was added to the no value list, then it's a mistake - maybe a moderator can investigate.

Ideally, a title should 'recover' from being free if it shows up on 100 people's wishlists...

But I understand that the mods have enough to do without banning titles a second or third time over the years.

That would be a good way to find out which games have actually been given away massively. Sometimes games get the 0 value when only a few dozens of keys were actually given away. If a game is wishlisted by a lot of users, most likely it wasn't given away that freely.
