Worst customer support on the planet. It took me 5 hours (literally) and 5 different people telling me they couldn't help me to with the first and last game I will ever buy from them.

I had Battlefield BC2 on my last hard drive. When it crashed and i installed the new one, I couldn't play the game on that drive. I called them and they said it was because the key was already in use. I told them that was me and they didn't believe me. I gave them the serial and receipt number and they said I was using it on more than five pocs. I only have two that can run it. I told them I had to replace the hard drive and they said tough, and that I should have thought of that before installing on a bad hard drive.
Edit: I finally got to a reasonable customer service rep about BC2. He checked the key and gave me a new one for the game just to make sure. The new one works like a charm so now I'm pretty glad they have SOME good people in their service dept.

The fuck? That's even worse than the support the telecom companies have...
I personally didn't think that was possible until now.

Because EA lies. See this page: http://www.origin.com/about
Under "Benefits Of Origin" section, it says "Origin now offers you the ability to add virtually any EA game you’ve ever purchased digitally to your Origin library, regardless of where you originally bought the game. Just enter the product code and a new copy will be added to your Origin library."
Origin does not accept half of my EA Games' CD-Keys. EA support did nothing but told me to repurchase those games I already own on Origin.
^ This guy also lost a game he purchased directly from EA Store. You can see that EA did not give a shit about his problem.

Careful. From what I've read, EA is utilizing debatable methods to pin-point pirated copies. Pretty much what CD Projekt is doing.
Even though what you're saying is a provocation, I'd rather warn you anyway.

Because it doesn't work and EA's customer service is practically a crime against humanity.
Oh, and Origin won't work right on campus, I couldn't download Battlefield 3 (which I preordered in FEBRUARY) until I went home for Christmas. Steam has no such problem.
Edit: Oh, and I had to install Origin in a sandbox so it wouldn't spy on me. Didn't have to do that with Steam, either. They have some nasty things in their EULA - even if they say they don't spy on you, they sure went to lengths to make sure they're legally covered if - no, when - they do. So they can look through a single other file in that sandbox, a nice .txt file with the tantalizing name of "pirated keys" explaining exactly where EA can go and what they can do with themselves when they get there.

I use sandbox for running multiple steams at the same time...

can you please tell me how to do that (install origin in a sandbox)

Use a sandbox program, some antivirus programs do it, or Sandboxie, you can just use Google to find a free one.
It basically makes it so any program inside the sandbox can't see or access anything outside it (with settings so it can connect to, say, the Internet or whatever else).

A lesser quality service. That's all. I don't care if Steam was terrible when it first launched. You don't see a new company that made a product and saying "Oh yeah.. well we're new so don't expect it to be perfect." Support is terrible and it's EA. I could go into detail and make a tl;dr post, but I'm too lazy for that and just leave it at that.

Their Eula is reason enough.
From the Wikipedia page for Origin: "According to reports in German newspapers, the German version of Origin's EULA violates several German laws, mainly laws protecting consumers and users' privacy."

The only qualm I have against Origin is how slow it takes to boot up, and that their interface is a little ugly for my tastes.
Besides that, most of the things they have are comparable to Steam, including on them being able to monitor your anonymous PC usage.
Oh, one thing I do like more about Origin is their live customer support. They definitely do respond a lot quicker than Steam's 3-4 day turnaround ticketing system.

I don't hate it. I just hate the idea of using more than one DD service that requires something to be installed on my PC to run the games.
Steam works perfectly for me, and houses my 400+ game collection all in one place. The only other games I have anywhere else are Condemned off D2D (simply because it's unavailable elsewhere) and a few free games I got off GoG (some of which Steam doesn't carry). So in the end, I still only deal with one service.
And I like that. I don't have to think "Hmm, Mass Effect 2 - oh, gotta boot up Origin for that" or anything of the sort. Yes, with 400+ games, it's a bit hard to keep track of what I do and don't own.
Yes, it's only like a 50MB install size. But that's still one more thing installed that doesn't have to be installed.

Lol the support 2 thing gave you extra bfbc2 keys and you still hate origin ? Go to hell. Also, like in steam, do not expect that all games older than origin and bought in other websites can activate in origin. YOU are an incompetent, you even sold the other bfbc2 keys ? Really, go burn in hell.

To be honest I kinda like origin. Although there is no real community and it lacks many features that steam has, its light and fast. I have had way to many problems with steam so called offline mode. Steam also crashes every time I click on something to fast.
Don't flame me cuz I don't hate origin. Tell me why you don't like it.
EDIT:
Origin Support Thing 1: I purchased BulletStorm off of Amazon and was unable to activate it on Origin. So I talk to tech support and they give me a new key. Turns out the new key is a Mass Effect 2 key. I guess their gross incompetency is not all that bad.
Origin Support Thing 2: I purchased Bad Company 2 Digital Deluxe Edition off Amazon and was unable to access the bonus stuff. So I talk to Origin support and they give me like 10 BFBC2 keys because their idiots. They eventually gave me the bonus content. Then I sold the extra keys >:).
