With Steam Community down, the site is a lot faster

Correct me if I'm wrong, but with Steam Community down right now the site is really fast for me. This appears to happen because the pictures of games and the user avatars can not be loaded. So if I am not much mistaken, if the Steam Community is up but under a heavy load, this will result in SG being slow as well.
Are you planning to store such pictures on your own server (in a similar way like for example youtube is doing it with ytimg) with the new SG?

Coincidence. I can actually access Steam Community and see all the avatars right now so...

When was the last time you were on SG? There have been changes happening over the last few days.

You are right, Community is working again and the site works just as well. Have been really inactive the last weeks
