My opinion:
Dogs are better companions, funny, and a damn mess to take care off. Need to clean up their mess often which might end up being annoying and frustrating... Also they can be comfortable assets when sleeping or relaxing much more easier compared to cats.
Cats are always fighting on rooftops/walls/streets, they interrupt my sleep, they are annoying at times when it comes to food or when they want to go bust some she-cats, they are randomly funny, they are lazy as f*ck when adults, they are less messy, though they can still give issues to the owner if they are left alone inside a house for too long... Cats i have to worry about when they get kittens to give away, this doesn't happen with dogs since they pretty much can't climb walls and go to the neighbours have some fun.
All in all, i like cats, but i prefer dogs, despite the amount of work they give, which is alot more than cats. I have both, i like cats when they aren't agressive, i like small dogs that fit perfectly inside my home, or hairy dogs. I used to have one like that but it got hit by a car on the head last easter at night. F*cking hated that day, lost a 10 year old companion, i was the first to have him in hands and was the last one to feel his hearthbeats untill it stopped completly. Driver who killed my dog ran away, never stopped for apologies or anything like that, it's things like this that make me hate humanity so much, i prefer having a pet over a human in my life, given their small lifespan, i can guarantee i'll have lots more fun with a nice dog/cat compared to some person who might backstab me one day or betray me for something, or simply just vanish out of my life.
Moral of this story, humans are a bunch of greedy, selfish, powerhungry, mindless bastards. I have yet to see the day where humanity will overcome this stupidity barrier of theirs.
PS: If i ever happened to find out who the driver was, i would hit him in the face with the shovel i burried my dog with, i would hit him hard enough to put him in a coma at least. I'm no killer i wouldn't want to be as bad as that person, but infact i would seriously go all out on him for what he did to my dog (hitting my dog with a car and driving away rather than help).

The dog i have now is on a leash, but this is a different dog, it's still young and it's bigger, so basically he has to be on a leash otherwise he will poop everywhere in the garden and destroy everything.
My previous dog was a home-type of dog, but he loved to run around like crazy in the backyard/terrain, he wasn't messy, it was a friendly dog. He didn't like strangers at first sight but he accepted them usually within 1 hour of interaction between each other. The things i went through with this dog are irremarkble, things that none other can change. I've had the dog since i was a kid, it was nearly 2 months old, basically a puppy the size of my 2 hands put together, he grew up with me, i had lots of fun with it and sadly he just had a sad way of dieing.
Also my first dog wasn't used to be on a leash, i did put him a few times, he always managed to break free, despite being a smaller dog. If he couldn't break free, he would be day and night barking and doing other sorts of noises, not letting people like me sleep.
Sometimes i hate myself for the last thing i did with him wasn't so big. Got back home from school, looked at my dog while he ws on the sofa staring at me, so i approached him and messed with him a little bit just for the heck of it, i usually spent 30-60 minutes playing with him almost every single day after school, and the last time i had a chance to play with him i sort of ignored him and let him go out to the garden play by himself... Fml.

I just prefer dogs because of their incomparable loyalty and companionship. You know a man's best friend will always be the dog, he could also be one of the worse enemies but that depends on the owner.
Male cats are boring to have they become lazy when adult and barely do anything other than fighting and making other cats pregnant. Female cats seem to be more friendly but they are more annoying, plus they are constantly having kittens, which is troublesome. :/

I wish i had a dog like my previous one. Got a new one which is annoying as hell if i get too close he jumps too much on my legs and doesn't stop licking... >_>
Got 2 adult cats, 1 male and 1 female, male is 2+ years old, female is a bit older than a year and got 7 kittens already (right now i have 4 in possession, 2 weeks old). Previous 3 were born when in april.
Thing is: Adult Male = "Father", Adult Female = "Daughter", yet she got banged twice by the adult male cat... and now i have 4 kittens to giveaway again, sigh.
So if you ever get a cat, go for a male one, even though the female ones are usually less aggressive, soft and smaller in size.

Haha, it is, 7 kittens in less than a year, it's problematic, i bet she's going to get another round of them soon enough again, which will end up being 10 or more kittens in a year probably. At least i've had the luck of none of them dieing so far...

I can't do it right now, it's not cheap to do that here. Plus i need the money for real life situations right now, so it's complicated to spend money on pets right now, as i really need to concentrate on other important stuff untill december, then it goes a little easier...

Well, when I was little I used to have a cat... then my mom shooed it away since as it turns up I am allergic to fur, feathers AND fish scales(Seriously? If I find the doctor who said that I'll drown him in a pool of piranhas...). Personally I prefer cats, they are nice, cute and don't require much work. The cat I had then knew where its toilet was and NEVER made a mess. A dog would require a lot more room than I have available and needs to be walked very often... which I can't be bothered to do. :P
