Just wanted to place a warning about the game Savage Resurrection in trades and resell. At the moment you can get free beta keys on the developers site (out of beta keys atm, i still have one left if someone wants it). These keys will be revoked after launch (so the game will be removed from your library at launch)!

The problem tho, is that when you activate these keys, steam will say "Savage Resurrection Retail". Thus, it looks in many ways like the full game.

As far as I'm aware the dev doesn't sell keys to third partys yet. So I don't think people can have full game keys atm (anyone care to correct me on this?)

I've had several people offer me this game in trades all of the sudden. When asked about the origin they claim vague stuff like "won special gw".
I'm afraid keys for this game can't be trusted until its out of EA.

They are taking it down when they're out of beta keys, as dev mentioned on Steam forum.

Yes, that's correct. I still have a beta key left if someone wants it.

That's a bit of and oversight from the devs, beta keys should redeem as such to avoid confusion.

Yeah, I agree. Some tried to point out to the dev this can become a PR nightmare when keys get revoked of people who thought they got a good deal. But he seems he doesn't wanna hear it and keeps clinging that he stated very clearly on the steam forums the keys will be revoked.

As I stated in the other thread, apparently they received the wrong type of keys from Valve which were not flagged as being beta keys. I'm not sure why they couldn't have Valve fix that after the first bad batch or w/e -- not sure how that works.

Otherwise, yeah they definitely messed up by dropping the keys on the Steam forum, so they were scooped up by bots/scammers. I'm not sure what they can do to stop the fubar beta keys from being sold/traded at this point, but it's definitely going to come back to bite them.

I doubt the devs have any foresight to know how to properly revoke the keys.

press copies often register as "for Beta testing", but those are full versions. so yeah, it's pretty confusing.

Yeah, a guy tried trading me a beta key but I thought it was strange that he wanted to trade very quickly. If the offer's too good to be true it usually is

Today is the reckoning. My beta key was just revoked as the game officially leaves EA. I noticed in one of the Steam reviews someone mentioned getting a key in a trade. The you know what is about to hit the fan.
