Hi, i've send soo many tickets because of people who giveaway free games (like the walking dead last week) but its a long process,i think that if had a button ( not the blacklist) to make that process more fast so the moderators would not waste so much time reading several tickets about the same person ,neither the person who sent the tickets will be annoyed by having to send several tickets of several people.

What do you think about that idea?(please someone answer me shuas)

P.S. sorry for my bad english i tried not to use the translater

edit: thanks everyone, i understood that the person who do this GA don't receive CV and i think that discussion don't need to continue,so if you wanna be stupid in the answers you'll talk alone

Do users even get punished for it anymore? It seems they have stopped removing the GAs sinse the rule change. Because either way it gives 0 CV. And like Movac said. Dont send multiple reports. if you feel the need, make one report that the game is free.

The GAs do still get deleted, but mods miss a lot because they apparently don't know how to search the archive.

Any example? I looked at Psychonauts that was recently free. Couldnt see a single GA deleted by moderator. Except those that choose DLC and created fake GA instead. I know before when free games werent allowed they got deleted pretty fast. But havent really seen that since the rule change.

Maybe he meant those https://www.steamgifts.com/archive/coming-soon/search?q=outlast

Seems mods miss giveaways that are currently not running.

I dont think so. The reason I wanted any example is because I cant find any currently or past free giveaways that has been deleted by mods. If you check recent deleted of outlast and the DLC those are deleted by the creator and not by mods. So I still dont think moderators even bother deleting anymore because they give 0 CV when they are added to the list.

i've stoped send reports and just write" well its free on ..." on the ga but still gives cv points for this (at least that's what I saw in the profile of the who make the ga)

Thats temporary CV. Game will be added to free list from the date its free, so that CV will be 0 soon.

IMO, they should just make free games not count toward the giveaway count, and no longer restrict when they can be posted. There's no point any more, and it would get rid of a lot of unnecessary and pointless support tickets.

I think the point of not giving away currently free games and why they temporarily remove them is because users enter the giveaways on the site and then activate the free key and then not removing or syncing their profile. So it results in many rerolls.

When you go to this link:
https://www.steamgifts.com/account/settings/giveaways
you can set it so that GAs for games which you already have on account are not shown.

On the giveaway list of games, you can also manually add games to list of games you do not want to see GAs for by the right button of the 3 buttons next to the game's name.

Other than that, mods usually try to limit possibility to make GA for a game during the time that game is being given away for free elsewhere as to limit that sort of GA-spam (and to demotivate users from grabbing mass of keys for GAs, especially as many users seem not aware of that there won't be any CV increase by those GAs). But as someone who either is already on the bandwagon of having activated a free copy (usually thanks to learning about it in the Deals section of the forum here) or simply manually adds a game to that mentioned list of filtered games of which GAs are not shown to me, I wouldn't mind if they didn't do even that as it is not an issue to me.

Giving away free games is not prohibited anymore.

It is prohibited if the game is currently free. You have to wait to make your giveaways until the game is no longer free but before the keys expire.

It's not even people giving one copy.
Seen several who had like 3 or more Psychonauts, Oddworld, Outlands and Walking Deads (record: 8 of each). That's just... insane.

I often wonder why we still get nice things like free games with gamers being how they are in general.

The main issue is with the current free games being removed from the GA list, people are still just putting them up under the wrong game name or a related DLC. I've noticed several oddworld GA's like that, for example.
