So I got my free Steam key for Protocol from WGN and it said it's for personal use, not for sale or giveaway. I thought it's fair, I got it for free so activated. But I was wondering if anyone is trying to "generously" give away this game here.

Guess what, I found one GA, so I just left this link there to let him/her know it's not a nice thing:

After that GA creator replied: "Is this supposed to mean anything to me?", then blacklisted me... I've not even blacklisted the guy who not sent the key I won, but this kind of crap is pissing me off.

I did, and I left a message at the GA that I've not received it.

People even regift games they won on this site, thinking they can get away with it. And tons of people try to gift a free game on Indiegala/similar sites before they get on the "free games list", gaining some pathetic CV..

You should've just reported the guy in the thread immediately. Threatening asking them nicely will never work, they're usually far too blind to realize what they've done wrong ;)

Yeah, I just reported on both sites.

Honestly I don't believe Steamgifts support will do anything about this unfortunately, it isn't in their own rules so he won't be suspended or anything regarding this matter.
Appreciate the WGN report though! :)

Well, I chose the "Gifting Beta Keys, Guest Passes, or Free Games" option as reason for the report.

What's wrong with giving something you got for free to someone else? Sounds selfish to forbid it? Frankly, calling someone a scumbag for giving away something they got for free is ridiculous and ironically, very scumbagy.

On its own I agree with you, however from the link above:

Prizes are not for resale, trade or public giveaways but you may give them to friends and post the codes on a forum as long as is not for your own gain.

They agreed to these terms by using the site and then broke them. Isn't that scumbag behaviour?

They did agree to the terms, but that doesn't mean that the rules are right. There are books such as 1984 that illustrate why, and other sites allow this behavior. Yes, they broke the rules, but I don't agree with the rules, so I must ask why the rules are there.

If you agree to abide by rules does it become acceptable to disregard them simply because you disagree with them? Why accept them in the first place in that case?

I'm not saying he didn't do something wrong, he did, but I must ask why the rules are there before giving final judgement. If the rules are unjust, they shouldn't be there, and he shouldn't be doing anything wrong.

He shouldn't accept them if he's going to disregard them. I'm not judging the rules, just his actions.

I'm not suggesting anarchy, I'm suggesting the removal of a rule.

You can pass it on for free for your friends. BUT giving it away here is for your own advantage for gaining CV. There were limited amount of free keys and you could apply for one for yourself. If you don't intend to use it, they why do you take the chance from others in the first place?
