What are you talking about? xD You don't buy or sell a tax. A tax is applied by these sites when you buy or sell something in their site.

He's just not a fluent english speaker/writer. xD He is obviously talking about the tax that is being applied when buying or selling games in these sites.

i didn't realize there were taxes on private individual to individual internet transactions, that sounds like a sham in itself to me. but i'm not surprised considering what sites we are talking about.

There are taxes on steam too, if you haven't noticed. :P Every trade you'll encounter has taxes, sadly. :/

i said private to private, that's private to company...
that's like charging taxes at a garage sale's used items. the taxes were already paid for upon the first purchase.

With the same logic, when buying from the steam community market, it's private to private too. :P But as you can see, there's a tax there too.

actually those fees are not taxes. we do however have to fill out what basically is a tax evasion form so that we don't have to pay taxes (idk if that the right way to say it, i'm not a lawyer, but that's best i can describe it as)

What is the "Steam Transaction Fee"?

The Steam Transaction Fee is collected by Steam and is used to protect against nominal fraud incidents and cover the cost of development of this and future Steam economy features. The fee is currently 5% (with a minimum fee of $0.01). This fee may be increased or decreased in the future.

edit/update: well, further in that linked article it says those that exceed $20,000 gross are liable for taxes, but upto that point its just filling out forms so we don't have to pay taxes.

I rather pay a bit more and support developers, instead of hurting them by supporting black and grey markets.
