Hello, SteamGifts community.

If i use a trainer (inf ammo, godmode, rapidfire, no recoil) on the survival/campaign mode [both Singe Player] i can get banned on the multiplayer version of the game e.g. VAC ban?

P.S.: I never used, i'll never you a hack or someting on MP, just the gets gets little borring after you finished it once or twice.

As far as I know you shouldn't. The admins would have no way to tell whether or not it was being used since it's singleplayer. I'd delete it before even attempting multiplayer though

The multiplayer is big mess, i played it once and won't play it again with all those cheaters, but thats a different story.

Why risk it? VAC is an odd, undocumented and unreasoning beast, and once you've been banned, there's little or no comeback.

Better safe than a statistic...

Why do you think VAC work in single player mode?To prevent what?

Because it is an odd, undocumented and unreasoning beast.

I'm pretty sure Valve Anti-Cheat is not programmed to determine whether you're running the Singleplayer executable or the multiplayer game. If the game is VAC protected and you start using an external process to start altering game data in memory on the fly, you're going to have a bad time.

Not being a cheater, I'm actually quite willing to believe that the way VAC works is that when you begin running a game, a database query is made. If a certain data value, a Boolean by the name of 'IsVACProtected' for argument's sake, is set to true, the whole VAC proccess runs in the background while you play.

If you NEED to cheat, for the love of whatever deity matters in your life, do it in a game that won't get your entire account flagged.

Or use a crack to run the SP, removes DRM and VAC protections.

Didn't people use to say that it only applies to online servers or something along those lines? Hence why you can make non VAC-protected servers for Gmod or CS:S.

I wouldn't advise to cheat on the single player, just to be safe.... But I do know a way you could do it without risk, although it involves pirating, which can get me banned if I talk about it here. Either way, I assume you know what I mean.
