Most cell phones have a calendar. Why not program it into that?

Not even an old flip phone or something? (I'm still in the stone age in that regard, haven't switched to a smartphone yet...) That's rough dude!

I find https://www.google.com/calendar/ the easiest / handiest one to use
Although keep in mind that it requires a Google account in order to use it.
Can be set up to send the notification by mail in advance (minutes, hours, days weeks) or to notify on your smartphone (if you ever buy one :D ).
Events can be repeated daily, weekly, monthly, yearly.
If you have a Gmail address you can check out the features.

Hello everybody.
The last few years I have missed the annual library book sale for my area, I just thought to look up the date and schedule a private FB event to try and remind myself. But I was wondering if there is a better way to go about this. Like some website (must be free) that I could sign up to and get email reminders of upcoming events I have programmed into it. Is there such a thing?
