Just noticed this, not sure if anyone else has, but I Have no Mouth, and I Must Scream is now on Steam! This game is based on the short story of the same name, which happens to be my favorite short story. It's a great story, and I've heard good things about the game!

Also, Stanley Parable released today!

Huh, I had it in my GOG wishlist, a little bit cheaper on Steam though.

Yep, a whole dollar.

I'd still get it on GOG, because then I'd actually own it. It doesn't have any Steam only features either.

True, although I don't see any features that Steam version has and GOG doesn't, unless you count the Linux and Mac 'ports'. (it runs on DOSBox)

You most likely can play the GOG version on Linux and Mac too by just using the DOSBox/ScummVM for your OS.

As i said before on these forums, after Thief GOLD, i wouldn't buy an old game from Steam.

Well, it depends on how much the versions of the game differ between the two services. Thief Gold on GOG is definitely better because GOG has bothered to update it with the most recent patches and fixes from the community, whereas the Steam version is just the barebones version straight off a CD.

As for IHNMAIMS, it is bound to be the same base version on both services, just wrapped into DOSBox. Possibly GOG has tweaked the configuration differently, but I doubt it.

This. Buying any game over ten years old on Steam is a crapshoot, especially considering the store page information is sometimes hopelessly outdated.

Never heard of it, but it really looks interesting.

From my limited interaction with the publisher bringing these classic games to Steam, they seem like stand-up guys. I don't know what all they actually did in updating System Shock 2 for example, but I've spent some hours in it and it's running great.

They added the multiplayer mod to SS2

That was a already existing fan mod IIRC.

That's what I said. But they added it so you wouldn't need to download it

The game is fantastic. I would highly recommend buying from GoG, however.

Yeah, this is nice. This is one of those games I have read about many times but have never actually played. I look forward to giving it a go.

It seems that Cyberdreams is not the company who made this port for modern PCs. Hopefully other games like Dark Seed I and II will be released as well! =)
