I planned to replay it on a stronger system after having played it years ago, but now I'm not sure lol

At least they did it on the worst Bioshock game.

You're right. There's community news on both 1 and 2 remastered about "quality of life" updates with the exact same patch notes. God dang it. At least they did it on the worst versions... lmao.

Phaha, fair enough :D

I am always astounded by companies being so disconnected from their consumers/audience/etc.

2K being 2K. Nothing to see here. Just curious how the 'ingame store' works, so I might just install one of the games to have a good laugh :)

Goodie, I guess they're adding their crappy intrusive often-broken launcher to all the games they can get away with. They already shoved it in the newer XCOM games some months ago and it proceeded to repeatedly break stuff. Now it's Bioshock's turn (the "Remastered"s seriously do not need extra help with breaking all the time).

I gave up trying to make mods work in XCOM:2. I played base game and updated mods for extension did not work, and 2K launcher modding window did not work to load mods. It was listing them, but not making in game changes.

>_>

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2561301647 Using AML? People on the forums always are saying use AML. I never used it, last time the launcher was down I just used "-noredscreen - review" command line argument with the official old mod launcher to play XOM 2.

I did try both AML and -noredscren -review and one more start-properties and it did not work. I did see mods and they were marked as "enabled" but there were no gameplay changes.

In the end game has actually working cheat codes, like in good old days. Press ~ and cheat! For free! So I used that instead to make game less annoying.

Valve should have some kind of protection for the customers when the publishers/devs change the "conditions" (like add launchers or new DRM) unilateraly years after we purchase a game, like re activated the posibility to ask a refund. I wonder if this should not fit in the "False Advertising" category. We already see many times publishers/studios delaying the adition of p2w microtransactions to their games to avoid the day one backlash from the community that affect the game review score at launch.

Well, I mean, when buying a game you agree to the conditions it's in on that time, if they decide later to change stuff like for example a launcher, it should not be allowed in my opinion since I never agreed on that when I bought it so making it refundable again would only be fair... but lets be honest, that won't ever happen!
I mean technically it's the same as when you buy a game, they update it and that update changes in-game stuff which you dislike they changed, nothing you can do about that either, they are free to change stuff and you are free to stop playing it, that's how lovely this all works....

I'm starting to think I have different definition of Quality of Life than publishers. Or maybe they are talking about their QoL...

What life do they live if they have such quality?

This just shows how out of touch 2K is with players. They started putting this "quality" crap in their games about a year ago. Every update has had a majority of negative replies to it. Most people just don't want it, for others it crashes or causes other problems with games, and yet they keep pushing it in new games and going out of their way to put it in older titles too before fixing it.

For me, the launcher has never worked. It just crashes before it launches the game (so can it even be called a launcher?). I haven't been able to play any of the games they've put the launcher on unless there is some way to bypass it. I've contacted their support with every update to let them know it's still broken.

maybe their programmer dreamed of becoming a rocket engineer, and the first stage falls off by itself after launch.

Lol, they really don't want anyone to buy or play their games. I guess its time to move on.
