The games they have on greenlight don't look terrible, so I'll reserve judgement until later; I do wonder if their status as a publisher will affect their chances of attracting other publishers to their bundles, but who knows?

I'm not sure I see much a point. Anyone who wants can put their own game up on Steam. No need to intentionally seek out a middle man to take a further cut.

Just for example, if I'd want to put up my game, I would pay 100$ Greenlight fee, then try to spread around the word about it. Groupees can save you the 100$ and easily give you visibility, much more than a random user can get.
Not suggesting anything, just saying that the situation can be beneficial for some.

I dislike 98% of the stuff coming from Groupees, I doubt this will be different XD

just a bunch of platformers

sigh

and the worst part is: none of those GL games look in any shape or form interesting or standing out from the massive library of already existing indie games

it seems to me that Groupees is going down the Black Shell Media way, basically publishing any random game they can, even if the game sucks.

Groupees did have a lot of good bundles and games but as of late some of their own game bundles and also those curated by others are hitting the bottom of the barrel concerning quality and re-bundled games.

Also the new !Iown instead of the old !downvote and !upvote (they now even go after those that still vote the old way) doesn't give a lot of confidence as some in Groupees clearly want to censor people and especially their opinion about their poor game bundles.

So talking for me personally I would be very hesitant and on my guard when I hear that Groupees will be a games publisher looking at the very poor game bundles and very poor quality control they are having and releasing since some time.
