Hi there funny thing: I recently thought i should play the Borderlands Series. I already got the first one i am only missing the Dlc's. Now i saw its on Humble Bundle. I cant buy there so i would trade for them for a TF2 or CS go key. Anyway i got a trade topic here: http://www.steamgifts.com/trade/iruM0/want-borderlands-dlcs

Also i wanted to buy Borderlands 2 GOTY but this one i would like to get in a real store. Does anyone know if all DLC's are included there. Or if some are missing? If so i would also buy the left ones if someone got them :D.

And another Question. Borderlands the Pre-sequel: Play before those 2 or after them? Or in General which order to play in? Because there seems to be another Borderlands but with another gameplay. From Telltale i think.

Do you guys think it's important to play them in order and even play the first one before the second one? Also are the DLC's important to get the full Borderlands Experience?

Thanks for reading hope u can give me an answer :)

I haven't played much of BL2 and never owned the first one, but as far as I know; You don't need to play them in the correct order since most people say that BL2 = BL but better.

As for the DLCs, from what I've heard, you should get them along with BL2.

EDIT: Oh and also, I think you confused Borderlands the Pre-Sequel with Tales From the Borderlands. Tales From the Borderlands is the Telltale game.

BL2 GOTY does not include all the DLC. At least 5 bigger DLC's are missing and it doesn't have any of the skins DLC's.

Order to play: BL1, Pre-Sequel, BL2, but in truth, Pre-Sequel can be left for last without problems. Tales form Borderlands covers some events from Pre-Sequel and BL2, so it's better to be left for the end.

Why should i play 1 - PS - 2 if they released PS last? I thought i would play it as last because of that. Even if the story is between those 2. I thought it would be some kind of backflash

Because Pre-Sequel takes place between the events from BL1 and BL2. The story happens between those two games and it shows how many of the characters from BL2 ended up on Pandora and why and how some of them change in such a way that they became something else that what they were when they headed towards the planet (sorry, but i must stay cryptic, as i would spoil your surprises, if you decide to play in that order).

No you should play TPS AFTER BL2 because there will be BL2 spoilers at the start of TPS
So play it like BL1-->BL2-->TPS-->Tales

Which big DLC? It includes all the major ones, you just miss the second level cap and 5 smaller DLC named headhunters quests.

The story of the franchise if you're interested in that is like this: Borderlands - Borderlands: The Pre Sequel - Borderlands 2

The GOTY version of Borderlands 2 is still missing some DLC's with a few quests and some character skins I'm pretty sure

The Borderlands with different gameplay is Tales From the Borderlands and it has the same gameplay as the walking dead or the wolf among us if you know any of these.

The story of Borderlands is not the main attractive of the game so don't worry too much about that ^^

Actually, BL not having an attractive story it's only partially true. The original had indeed an almost inexistent story, but it was there.

Borderlands 2 has a fun story, told through chatter, eCHO devices, posters (You need a decent graphic card to read them and get the extra fun) and some cutscenes. Things improved in Pre-Sequel, the craziness of Pandora being pushed way further.

Over all those action/shooters comes Tales of Borderlands: heavy on the story, with lots of references to the BL1, BL2 and Pre-Sequel, stuff you would miss if you did not payed attention to the stories. The gameplay is indeed in the vein of Walking Dead / Wolf Amongst Us, but you will have tons of fun.

I don't consider the DLC important though I would get them in case you get interested later. However I do want to say that Borderlands 2 and the Pre-Sequel are dramatically different from the original Borderlands. They changed the weapons a lot.

BL2 GOTY is missing the 5 headhunter packs and the second level cap increase. The headhunter packs are short 1-2 hour themed missions which are fun but really only worth the price if you like borderlands games. The second level cap increase is really endgame stuff. It's also missing all the skins.

If you're going to play all of them, I'd say start with BL1 first. It's chronologically first but also the game is older and the PC version is much clunkier compared to the newer ones.

Customization wise, i like BL1 more. Weapons were properly split, there was no skin packs DLC's involved in your character's customization. Yes BLS and PS have more loot. But nost of it is useless and you need to grind a lot for the really good stuff.

BL1 was definitely scaled better but I wouldn't say weapons were better split. Not sure where you're going with the loot thing. My problem with the first game is that you need to use a config editor to tweak all the settings and the fov is headache inducing small. It is just very obviously a poorly done PC port.

Borderlands 2 Complete Edition is on sale at the Mac Game Store. It contains the GOTY and some other DLCs, BUT it still doesn't contain all DLCs. I think there's no package which contains all DLCs.

Oh, when you said "real store", I thought you meant something like... non bundle. lol. Alright then. I don't know what editions you can find on stores, though. Good luck!

Nope, there is no complete edition. Plus some skins will appear only if you have Poker Nights 2.

BL2 GOTY has the 4 big expansions, 2 extra characters and first level cap. So all major stuff is there, it's a nice buy for $8-10, you will just miss the Headhunters DLC (small quests) and 1 level cap (that might be worth buying on a steam sale).
