Yesterday I passed the last of the three FINAL FANTASY Pixel Remaster (1,2 and 3)
What all Pixel Remaster have in common, the lack of additional content (additional locations and quests that appeared in later versions)

The FINAL FANTASY I Pixel Remaster and FINAL FANTASY II Pixel Remaster are almost perfect.
the only thing I didn't like was the detailed map, there is nothing to explore when you know in advance where the chests are(you enter a room and the map displays the contents of all the rooms on the location) and where the dead ends are.

But I didn't like the quality of the FINAL FANTASY III Pixel Remaster
1) there are bugs in the game,

  • sometimes the lower part of the enemies turns gray after being hit (I encountered this in the crystal tower)
  • sometimes on the" world map " the hero can walk on water (if the water is near the place where the hero can walk)

2) after entering a secret passage, SUDDENLY all the secret passages on the location are displayed on the map (all dead ends and forks)

  • and if in the old versions the hidden passages were stylized for the design of the location, they are hardly noticeable... then in this version they are bright white

3) the entire map is visible and accessible immediately. the game has a consumable item and a magic spell that allows you to view the map, BUT now they don't make any sense

The game uses the plot from the original (from the very first) version of the game
a) original
4 children were walking around the cave, fell into a hole and the crystal gave them strength... in the end, they (all four) returned to their native village with one princess
b) 3D Remake
only one character fell into the pit, then he returned to the village and he saw how the children hurt his friend (the second character), then they met the daughter of a blacksmith from a neighboring village(the third character), and the last they met was an officer from the castle nearby(the beloved of a local princess, the fourth character)

I don't mind the lack of additional content in FFI-II. What bothers me is that FFV-VI old versions aren't coming with PR (correct me if I'm wrong) and SE forces player to buy in a way downgraded versions of respective games.
And trading cards in these games were done extremely cheap even for SE

I thought the gray/grey part was some sort of stone effect as it happened in a lot of battles later on and the grey part on the enemies actually grow bigger after each hit, but makes more sense it being in the crystal tower it's an effect just on those monsters in that tower.

I never encountered the walk on water part myself.

What i really disliked was the really missable parts being hein's castle and 2 items you had to get from 2 old men in that one town.

FF3 also misses the Moogle/Mognet part and thus the Iron Giant.

Also in all three you could grind from the start, making yourself OP and making the rest of the game pretty much a breeze.

I've never played any of the FF series except when I checked out the MMO one, I'm interested but I need to finish my backlog anyway, maybe if they go on a bigger sale. Soundtrack bonuses are always tempting.

Steamdb originally listed FF4 for August 19, September 9th for FF5 and September 30th for FF6.

FF4 is releasing on September 8th so it wouldn't be surprising if FF5 releases around the 30th.

I wonder if it's because they're butthurt over people ripping into them for not including the extra content from other versions. SE seems to have developed thin skin.

Seems they were quite early on removing the previous ports of these, flawed as they may have been.
