I started watching animal documentaries to relax. These days, it's mostly The Orangutan Jungle School because it never fails to make me smile when I'm having a crap day. I mean... baby apes...
What are you watching to help you relax?

I usually just sleep through the pain. If somehow I'm not tired, I would pick up a random "healing"-type or children manga to read. Simple stories where you don't have to think but feel, couple with innocent, good people enjoying life is a good therapy. I think it's the same principle as with animal documentaries (and I love them too), but reading means I can do it upside down on a bed and stay away from electronic devices.

A good book is always great healing. And you're right, it helps that it's not screens. Most of my books are on screens these days though and I have to put on my glasses to read anyway so bed reading is no help for my insomnia. I either end up waking up sleeping on my face with broken glasses or in my good chair with numb legs.
If you have recommendations for good manga for kids though, I'd appreciate them. I have nephews and nieces and I am always grateful when I can put something to read in front of them that's age appropriate.

My top 3 recommendations for children manga are always Doraemon (anything for children by Fujiko F. Fujio really), Cardcaptor Sakura, and Yotsuba&!, for both boys and girls of all ages (and my old ass as well). They maybe a bit "boring" for teenagers who wants more action (then go for Fullmetal Alchemist, Pokemon Adventures), drama (Sailor Moon, Fruits Basket, and March Comes In Like a Lion instead), or brownbeat humour (Gintama is the king) though.

The dredge trailer :-DDDDD
It was too tempting to not make this joke :-DDDDDD
I would say i watch in such cases, relative often, some Capybaras or other, often young, animals vids at youtube.
Examples:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FM9SemMfknA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljlDOR4YLyc
If i don't want to watch something i hear music, for example the "Eye of the Tiger" from the Rocky movies (from Survivor), if i want to push me, or some medieval music or melodic/fantasy metal.
And i like to go to a vineyard or to a river and sit there in the night, hear on the wind, hear the water, look into the darkness and inhalate the peaceful mood.

🤣🤣
Oooh I've seen the Squirrels at the Window videos.

Now I want to hear melodic fantasy metal.

Living in a big city makes it difficult but during my vacation, I spent at least an hour outside every night just listening to the night and looking up at the stars. It really brought a sense of inner peace I haven't found in a long time.

Blind Guardian - The Bard's Song
I would say a very known one.
Blind Guardian - Lord of the Rings -Remastered 2007-
Faun - Federkleid
A bit different but should raise your mood when you hear it ;o)

Go for a walk in the nearby national park, or listening to music from a few artists (such as Birdy and Of Monsters and Men.
Or watching ex-world champion to play C&C Red Alert 2 multiplayer with random ppl, with his own commentary.

Bah it's not that much work and the odds are way better than public giveaways.
It'd be better to be able to make GAs without having to worry about bots, for sure but that's not the world we live in.
Conversely, since I can see you're playing your wins, there are groups that you could join to improve your chances and win cool games.
You're in luck because Playing Appreciated is open for new members again and you have the perfect win to play.
And you're very close to level 2 so you'll be able to apply for Taleplay too

Yeah, totally understand wanting to block the bots. As for playing my wins, it's more like trying them. I've only been able to finish a few, though I've given an honest try on the all my older ones. I'm saving my last/newest 3 for the play a game in MONTH events.

Laughter is the best medicine for real. And people who know how to laugh are the best ones to surround yourself with when things are bad.
My grandma always said she knew she was in love with my grandfather because he made her laugh on days she didn't feel like smiling.

Eating frozen yogurt (pineapple, mmm) outside with my kid. Not blazingly hot. Tasty food acquired for dinner. What's your go-to tasty food for a relaxing evening? (Tonight we got Indian food--tikka masala and paneer, but last week we grabbed cheese burgers and a milkshake to share.)
Positive bump.

Good fro-yo is just impossible to get in Paris. I sneak in some greek yogurt at work to use the ice cream machine to make it 🤣
Tonight we got Indian food--tikka masala and paneer,
Tasty!

Depends who I'm relaxing with on my day offs (If I work, dinner is family style at work before service)
If my gf is here, we"ll get some korean fried chicken because there's a place nearby that makes tasty crunchy addictive fried chicken and my gf loves their kimchi.
If my sister is hanging out, I'll grab satay lamb skewers and pad thai from my favorite Thai.
If my nephews are here, I'll typically cook something simple like croque monsieur with a bit of a salad or a quick pickle of whatever veggies I have in the crisper.

Used to be fruit smoothies until I got diagnosed with t1 diabetes which kinda put a stop on all carbs-foods until I could properly manage it. 😄
I should take the time to learn to calculate them and ease back into enjoying them, although it can be challenging to do so!

Good suggestion! I'd just add some strawberries or something a bit tart as well for that little sourness twist I love.

When i wasn't lactose intolerant, i loved cheering up with just a good piece of Camembert or Munster cheese. Or melted Raclette cheese 🥳 I don't remember the taste, but it was so delicious, nothing better for your morale.
Now i would then choose hmm a BBQ. Or otherwise, for a good but short moment, a coffee / tea / chocolate, and i would cook a chocolate melting cake with margarine !
As said abdNiszan, pizza is amazing option too !

I've noticed a rising amount of negative posts and threads lately on SG. From sad and gloomy topics to rants and angry posts, it just makes me feel slightly depressed.
To counter the negativity, I created this 100% positive thread! The one rule of this thread - think and post positively!
Tell me what good thing has been happening in your life, post cheerful gifs, anything really. Let's cheer up those who feel sad, and maintain the mood of those who don't. ^^
Here's a small giveaway to celebrate positiveness: http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/HuABS/labyrinthine-dreams [ENDED]
Please note that I did not create this thread to devalue or disapprove of anyone who's posts are negative. Everyone has their share of sadness, anger or depression in life. Matter of fact, this thread is especially created in order to cheer up anyone who may be having negative emotions. :D
