I expect something normally unreasonable like straight up discounting it from 39.99€ to 10€, but instead they gave straight up 29.99$ discount... Which is extremely weird and non-standard...

The coupon in question provides a discount to the USD price of the Civilization VI - New Frontier Pass, bringing the price to $10. This comes to a total discount of $29.99 USD. $29.99 is then converted into the currency to which the account is tied. Instead of seeing the equivalent of $10 USD, you receive the same discount of $29.99 USD towards the total price of the item.

Their exchange rate for CAD was off, but they adjusted it, so that’s worth noting! And as others have noted, the discount isn’t indicated until it’s in your cart.

I didn't want to bother their support about this but I paused my Choice subscription yesterday and at the What can we do better step chose Other and wrote "I was strongly considering getting this solely for Civ 6 and buying the New Frontier Pass to complete the game but in what universe does $10 translate to €15,36?"

Yes, got it. This is something i wanted to buy during steam summer sale. Coupon valid until 1st July, so ill see steam price, if that comes down to 15€ instead then buying there, as spending 15€ from my existing, never exhausting wallet, is better than paying a new 10€ to HB.
