What speed do you get when downloading games? (actual speed so not the amount you pay for if you know what i mean :)
I just got lucky, they upgraded the neighborhood with fiber so all the providers wanted as many customers as possible.
I ended up getting the modem and everything installed for free, and my line cost is €32,50 a month.
Had to negotiate between 3 providers though, my neighbors took the first offer and ended up paying 60,- a month for 20/20.

My actual download speed is approximately 850-900 kb/s <<< yes, they're kilobytes! (better known as 7 Megabit/sec ADSL).
€45 per month for this and phone line with unlimited calls (Italian providers don't make contracts for internet alone), with an optional extra €5 per month to upgrade to 16 Megabit/sec (actually 2 Megabytes/sec).

The most glaring problem is that they really shove us with next-to-useless home phone line, that covers up almost two thirds of the total price.
And that's pretty much as cheap as it gets, as Italian providers don't like to reward long-time customers, instead keeping their best offers for new ones (they usually pay about half, but only for 6-12 months).
Fiber optics isn't really an option for me, as my zone isn't yet covered, but the contracts are way better (something like 20 Megabit/sec minimum for almost the same price)
This is my Speedtest result (in Megabits, apparently it's the only possible output on images), and it's one of the better ones lately:

We've had dial-up until 2007, 640/96kbps (yes, kilobits per second) (32€/month) until 2012, then another isp came and we've had 2/0,5mbps (megabits), then 4/0,5mbps and now 7/0,5mbps (all upgraded for free) for about 25€/month. All these connections (excluding dial-up) have always been wireless, so they didn't come with the telephone line (which we dismissed last year for insane fixed costs).
The price is reasonable now (for what it offers), download speed is nice, but uploading at 0,5mbps is a pain in the arse.
Maybe there's a chance next year there will be fibre in our whole region, but frankly, I doubt it.

You mixed the < and > signs, should be >20 MB/s (for more than 20 MB/s) and <500 KB/s (for less than 500 KB/s).
I'm paying around $15 for 10 Mb/s (not MB/s), but my shitty connection is giving me only a 1,5 Mb/s = ~140 KB/s download. That's kind of money is pathetic for this connection, but I can't get a better one (by cable), because I live in a village (well, 2 km from a big city, so...).

Then help pay for more, then you can get faster speed???
Or sell your soul for google fiber
My speed is okay,my monthly cap is terrible and my ping is even worse

Honestly, I don't really mind it. For now, I don't need more then that. Sure it's annoying if you have to wait for a game to finish downloading and it takes a full day (especially since other online games and thing like youtube won't work well during), but I can live with that. I just download during the night :p

Sometimes in steam I hit over 100 MB/s(mega-bytes). It's insane
I do not pay for it directly, it's included in my monthly rent but my rent is not very high. In USA.

x < y : means x is smaller than y
x > y : means x is bigger than y
you should have used [speed]<500 and [speed]>20. Also, there is a difference between KB and Kb (the later one is 1/8).
Right now I have TV + 200Mb/s for 15euro. From Steam I download with 15-20MB/s.

Can't. No other providers around here except for my current ISP and they are fucking crooks. They raised the prices for their service just a few months ago without upgrading or mentioning any possible upgrades in the future.

I live in the middle of the countryside on a small fucking island. I hear they have decent service in the major cities. Damn I'd like living over there instead of this hole. ;_;
