EDIT Deciding to go with Build C since it seems the best and the video that was linked ITT really made me happy since it shows really good performance all around and it is definitely within my price range. Thank you if you helped me out here and even if not I hope you enjoy the train.

Hello SG you may or may not know me, but recently I decided to do my first build so that I could play games at a higher framerate than what I play now. Quick Speccy of my laptop for reference PS I know my CPU Temp is pretty high when Idle that's why I also want to build my first PC. (Also since it doesn't show the laptop shows the Video Card as a R6 series (Just putting it out there since I don't know how strong it is in comparison to the other two I'm going to post and hope someone better than me could help.)

So after some time of browsing I decided to set a budget of $550 aside for the build and did some research and even went on some other sites, but I wasn't sure which of these builds would be better (Other suggestions are always welcomed)
The two builds are Similar, but I was wondering if it's really worth it so I was here to ask for help.

Build A
Build B
Build C (This is the one from all the recommendations in it, but I can't change the poll to add it in.)

Build A was my first build idea, but since I keep hearing that a 2GB VRAM is a terrible choice for a GPU (by today's standards) so I thought about upgrading to the 1050Ti with 4GB of VRAM to help.

For reference of what games I'll be playing would be
Xcom 2
Total Warhammer
Mad Max
Fallout 4 (Once I get it on sale)
Shadow of Mordor
Alan Wake
and a few others, but those are the main ones I want to play, but can't really run that well on my current set up.

Any help is greatly appreciated and to compensate time (or for those who would only click for giveaways) Have a giveaway train

My computer personally has a 6 GB ram and runs games great but my 2 GB ram ran most games well so I'd say 4 GB would be great but I'm no computer expert so ignore me lol xD

He is not talking about RAM but the VRAM that is located on the GPU.

If you don't mind getting used stuff you should look for a i7 2600-2700k cpu and clock it. If i remeber correctly a clocked 2700k is about the same as a 4790k and they are quite cheap used. You would need a decent cooler tho.

If you're going for a budget build, drop the SSD.
It's mostly a quality of life improvement, since it does speed up game loading times, but you should instead invest that money into a better CPU, because an i3 will just slaughter any build you try to come up with. And most of those games are pretty big, so they'd just fill a 120gb one really quick. Get an SSD down the road, when you already have your PC set up.

If you go with the RX470 for a GPU, maybe choose an AMD CPU to go with it too since AMD GPUs sometimes don't do too well with intel cpus.

+100, this guy speaks the truth. Although generally compatibility is not that much of an issue between AMD and Intel, it can result in weaker performance (coming from a guy who thinks intel processors are better than amd btw, honest opinion). Getting a fx-6350 would probably be a more suitable choice over an i3, in my opinion. And yeah, getting used components can improve your build and save you a lot of money, got my GTX 750 Ti for £50 less than it was going for as new, been using it for 2 years now and no issues with it.

Lots of people goes RX470 with Intel CPU w/o problem. No one buys AMD CPU now (before Ryzen releases)

I'm not saying the parts are gonna duke it out inside the case, but there might be a small decrease in performance when compared with a system with intel+nvidia or amd+amd.

If you're going for a budget build, drop the SSD.

Reading through the first page of posts, I was just about to post this. Skip the SSD and put the money toward a better CPU and/or GPU. I did without an SSD until my most recent build about 6 months ago. I generally put my system to sleep, so a fast boot up is not an issue, and even when I do a full shut down, I don't sit and watch my PC boot up. I power it on then go do other things (piss, get snack, etc.) then come back when I'm ready to game.

Do you really need a WiFi adapter? Ethernet cable is cheaper.

I might go for a Ethernet cable, but since I won't have the wifi set in my room I will need the Wifi Adapter so I can use the internet.

Well I have pretty much the same as Build B, I bought it about a month ago, and I really like it.
I'm not sure, but in Build C, the Pentium may bottleneck the GPU. (I'm not a PC expert) I would go with Build B!

Definitely C; a G4560 is very close to the i3-6100 now that Pentiums have hyperthreading.

I have chosen and probably going to start ordering the parts either tomorrow or next Monday. I'm excited for when it will all come together and I just need some other small things (such as tools, thermal paste, and a Anti-Static Wristband)

C seems pretty smart.
Too bad you're on such a tight budget though, it would probably feel quite smoother if you replaced the hard drive with an SSD. I'm not really used to making builds with a very constrained budget though, I usually just decide the kind of parts I need I then find the cheapest combination in that range.

Yeah the budget is a pretty weak thing, but since my current laptop is pretty weak I think I'll be much better off with the build.

B is Good but If you can increase your budget little more then change GPU & PSU with these two:

1) Gigabyte GV-N1070WF2OC-8GD Windforce OC GeForce GTX 1070 8GB 1.56GHz $379.00
2) FSP Group HG650 Hydro G ATX 80+ Gold 650W Full $84.99

Both are best.

3) Also for Gaming, you should install RAM min. 16 GB.
4) Windows 10 Professional x64 would be best

Personally I have this RIG,

1) Gigabyte BM85H (If I remember right "as I am in office)
2) iCore 3 4th Gen - 3.2 Ghz
3) 16 GB DDR3 - Kingston (4+4+8)
4) Segate 250 GB HDD + WD 300 GB HDD (Both are old)
5) Gigabyte GT740 2GB (Bought in June 2015)
6) FSP Epsilon 600W +80 White (Bought 2 1/2 years ago).
7) Windows 8.1 Professional Edition 64 Bits

This rig is working perfectly and I am playing most of game with High Settings like Dishonored 2, GTA V etc etc......

I am planning to update the rig but the cost of Processor and GPU is sky-high i.e Processor is around $500/- and GPU 8 GB GT1070 & 1080 is around $850 to $980 as government put lot of duty and taxes on Computer Items.

I made the choice of going with Build C and enjoying what I have, but I'll probably look into getting another 8GB stick of ram (or 2 of them) so that I can have more RAM. I even upgraded my PSU to be 600W.

Also if that's just the GPU (the $379 part) than that's crazy since my budget is only $550 and that would take up most of it and not include anything else really.

Though I do plan on using W10 when I build it since I've been using W10 on my laptop and except for a few small things I haven't had a problem with it.

I understand but if you can wait some more time and gather further amount then at least you can use that PC till 2 - 3 years. I always upgrade my PC after every 5 years. I still gathering money and when I see that current PC is out dated and not worth to play games then I will upgrade the same.

Anyway, choice is yours. But little wait will not cause any problem to you

Tom's Hardware Best GPU Value Comparison is always worth a look. It is frequently updated and provides comparisons at several different price points and applications. They advise that in general, the AMD hardware has a performance advantage in newer DirectX 12 and Vulkan-based games but Nvidia’s Pascal architecture is typically more competitive in DirectX 11 applications.

Yeah I saw a video in the thread that shows me what kind of performance I'll be getting and I'm really excited to build it and play a wider variety of games.
