You can sometimes buy delisted games from other sites if they obtained keys before the game was delisted. Including some banned ones such as Motor Rock.

Only a few removed games which have their subscription pages left open can be accessed this way. Most removed games are completely removed as can be seen in their SteamDB entry's status attribute:.

I've never seen Steam kick games except for cheating people but almost all the removed titles are because music or other rights (sports) have expired.
Music publishers are really shooting themselves in the foot as usual because when I enjoy a song in game, I'm more likely to want to hear it outside of the game.

Valve forgot to close this sub when the game was removed two years ago. It's published by Ubisoft and currently there's the publisher weekend. When setting up the discounts for all Ubisoft another employee didn't notice that the sub shouldn't be open anymore and put a discount on it, too.

Looking at SteamDB I can see the only two places that still list a price for the game are New Zealand and Australia. Can you see if the game is geo-locked? It's been a while but I wanted to add some closure to this whole ordeal. I had an Australian account attempt to gift me the game but unfortunately Steam throws out an error while doing this. I had the same Australian account gift me a different game and it worked fine. It looks like The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is region locked, so for anyone that might've wanted to try this, it's a no-go unless you're living in AU/NZ.
EDIT: This is going to be great news! Turns out the Australian account had a gifting flag. Steam support was contacted and the flag was lifted. I now own The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and paid a fair price for it.

Sleeping Dogs, the original, doesn't have an open sub, but you can get it on trading sites like Dispenser for 8 TF2 keys (roughly 13.5-14.80 USD real money)

Tbh it's a steal compared to what people on Steamtrades are asking for it. If you think $30 for a rare removed game is too much you should just get cheap retail copies of these games or skip them altogether. In which case I don't quite get why you are on this thread then though xD
