Fallout 3 GoTY and Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition

I own NV on 360 and 3 on PC

I would think that the game would be either region locked, or completely in german. I wouldn't recommend trying it. The best he could do is wait or pay a couple of bucks extra.

Germans get really odd censored versions of some games

I can't be 100% sure about this one, but there is a good chance this one isn't censored either.

NV "vanilla" was de-gored for Germany, but NV Ultimate Edition isn't. For some reason.

Fallout 3 is censored in Germany, both normal and GOTY.
New Vegas base game is censored, but if a German buys the Ultimate Edition package without owning the base game, they get the uncut ROW version.

I got the key from Amazon, someone in China won and activated the key without a problem (and without a low violence warning) :)

It has nothing to do with the ones making the game, it's all to do with german laws, same thing as what happens in australia.

My system froze only once while within Fallout 3, it took a minor change because of CPU multithreading in it's config file.

It's literally changing one line (one character) in a configuration file to make it work, and for many people even that isn't needed as it just runs out of the box (or, well, out of the download queue). And this one line is what's causing all the "ermahgawdcannotrunthisgamehelpmeI'mstuckanddon'tknowwhattodo" threads all over the FO3 forums.

I played through the GOTY version just fine on Windows 8.

I have the GOTY edition on Steam, 276+ hours played under Windows 7 64-bit, game fully modded (56 mods) including some mods of my own and the unofficial patches. The game plays flawlessly, and it's a much better experience on PC than with the Xbox 360 version (which I also own and played). Two more RL friends also have the same edition on Steam and they also played them without any issues on Windows 7 64-bit. Just some little and easy tweaks were necessary in the three systems to play it perfectly: the INI thread fix to end the random crashes, GFWL Replacement, and FOSE to be able to use the Fallout Stutter Remover plugin and a few other mods.

edit: according to some reviews on amazon.de fallout 3 goty is indeed censored.

One of the questions also asks if it's the cut version and the answer was yes.

If you really want the game, just buy it and use the uncut patch.
