People do not have to comment to win a giveaway I believe

Leaving comments is not a requirement for public giveaways (though I comment on all of mine).
Support won't reroll these. Either gift the winners of take the Not-Received hit. And no, you cannot select the winners; that would be unfair to all entries and would lead to abuse. Random is random.
Edit: By the way, those are some nice first giveaways :) If you want people to be involved in your giveaways you can make private giveaways for the forums, or puzzle giveaways, etc. That won't guarantee comments but the entry to comment ratio is usually better on those.

I forgot to suggest it, but if you find a nice group you will often get many more comments than public giveaways. You can see on my profile (notably my recent Bioshock and Cities XL giveaways) comments outnumber entries.

Looking at your giveaways which all of them are public, no. You can't set custom/special rules on public giveaways.
You didn't even wrote about "you should comment to win this" in giveaway description. Except the latest one I see, and I made a comment about it there.

Only wrote it on my latest entry after realising the previous winners where not even thankful. But I made no quarrels with them because one of the guys had gifted $2000 worth of products so he rightfully deserves a win. Personally I just find it boring when people don't comment.

Nope. You can not pick a user of your choice.
A reroll is allowed at times, but that is not a suitable reason for one.

i'm not trolling in any way brat. you registered 6 hours ago, didn't take the time to read the cretin's guide then come here asking obviously dumb questions..

He's always like that on the forums :P I find his posts fun to read as I could never see myself being that rude haha!

I did read that you are not required to comment in order to enter a giveaway. But I really don't see a reason as to why I should gift a prize to someone like you, just because they 'won the lotto' so to speak. And I think four titles in six hours is extremely generous, I would post more but there is a limit. I am done talking to you now, bye.

I think he had more of an issue with your question than your generosity to be honest. If you read his posts; while rude, only call out this thread itself.
Either way, I would take his comments with a grain of salt. Dude always seems to be upset about something.

I know you already got your answer, so I just wanted to add a small tidbit. "Just because they 'won the lotto'" is the only reason required, especially for public giveaways. I'm sure you'll have lots of fun in the future creating private puzzle giveaways that demand a lot more time and attention. For now, take pride in knowing public giveaways are a lot more accessible to new users like yourself and are a necessary stepping stone to familiarize them with how the site works.
Welcome to SG and have fun.

Well, some people (like myself and OP apparently) do like it when people comment. I find it rude not to.
There is no right answer, just personal preference.

I really think it's probably an attempt at well intentioned/bad mannered trolling, but it did start a fruitful exchange of ideas, didn't it? :)

Picking your own winner isn't allowed because it would be easy to abuse (for example always picking your own friends). If you want to pick a winner yourself you should give away your games on the forum, or make a private giveaway and only allow entry to people who you want to win.

Public giveaways cannot have any special rules. So yeah, your reroll requests for this reason will not be approved.

I don't really comment thanks in giveaways. It counts as +1 in comment in profile so I'll be only thanking the creator if I won the game.
Exception if there's a wonderful discussion inside the giveaway
or I see a Windows7 user in the comment section

Yeah, I tend to comment only when there is a actual discussion. I even use a script to hide the generic Thanks comments and get to the good stuff faster.

To each his own, I guess. I personally am just grateful that someone decided to share with the community.

Do note that you can never choose a winner yourself. You can make a rule in private giveaways, not sure if a mod needs to approve it beforehand though, you may ask for a reroll, but the new winner will be, again, chosen randomly. People would abuse the hell out of the system if you could choose a winner yourself

You like generic insincere 'thx' spam? The winner thanking after the end of ga is enough which doesn't always happen by the way.

I never post "thanks" in the giveaway comments because most people that post that really don't mean it. Its like people that ask how you are only as a common pleasantry, but if you actually told them how you were feeling, they'd suddenly have stuff to do. Instead, I make a point to thank the person if I happen to win. Does that mean I don't deserve to win?
If you're only giving stuff away so you can count how many "thnx" comments you get, you're doing it for the wrong reasons.

A lot of people love and appreciate comments on their giveaways. You don't have to post simple "thanks!" if you think that's just a common pleasantry. Say something interesting instead - about the game being given away, for instance. Giveaway comments can be fun to read without being a wall of thanks.

Also, in my experience, quite many winners in public giveaways do not thank at all (even after winning), which makes me a sad panda.

I haven't really commented on any giveaways, I'm stressing enough about refreshing and missing entries. I agree with SilenR, commenting doesn't mean a person isn't grateful, it's only an assumption since you cannot know anything about their reasons on not commenting. There could be some guy who doesn't comment because their eyes are too filled with tears of gratefulness. I bet alot of people just comment because it's a habit. That being said, it does make me feel better to see 14 pages of thank yous on my Skyrim giveaway. Which is why I will think about this matter and perhaps start to comment. Because if there's any way I can cheer up somebody else I think it may be worth it:)

there are no girls on the internet, sorry to burst your bubble

Hi my name is Loraine and I have a fake facebook profile. I enjoy telling people I'm a girl
This is what you should expect on the internet.

no, not unless its a private giveaway(or private group), you clearly stated this rule, and you got it approved by support ahead of time(which it doesn't sound like you did. you can't just apply the rule after the fact because they bugged you)
so technically yes but I get the feeling in this specific instance no
also, yes. the pick a new winner button would pick another random winner, not allow you to choose.
edit- also topics can be closed.

Hi,
I put have put four games up for gifting and the people who won the first two titles did not even comment.
Can I select my own winner out of the people who commented and entered? I know there is a 'select a new winner' button and you need to give a reason. BUT, will it select someone else AT RANDOM again? Because if it does it might choose someone who did not comment the second time around as well... :/
Edit: I got my answer very quickly but it was fun to read your opinions on the matter. Enjoy your day.
