hehe ok but really I checked it on wiki as well, 2005 was the first year third-party games began appearing on steam, and steam becoming profitable first time.
SG effect on people's library is indeed crazy. I had about 100 or less games when I first joined SG 4 years ago :D

I reached finaly an archievment...
i have 1000 (One-Thousend) games...
I'm at steam for over 10 Years now, i joined on January the first this year at this community.
A friend told me, there are free games...yeah, well free games of course but its hard to win with this big community.
Befor i joined i had like 200 games (first was Half-Life orange box Retail (the first one in germany))
but since im here i know how to get cheap games, i made it to lvl 10 in 8 month won some nice games in groups and bought "some" bundles.
Last but not least ZemunBRE gifted me 2 crappy games to make 1K. THX for that. =)
I know you are here to get free games so lets start(LVL3+) =)
