Or does it only take games released since the client was started?

I've tried to activate AC1 and FarCry 2 and they didn't work so I assume it only accept games that released after AC2 (2009). I haven't seen any kind of list like Steam and Origin have.

What? I bought one in Ubishop, I've received a key with link to download the game but key does not work with uplay. That's bizzare.

I was able to activate Assassin's Creed 1 and Silent Hunter 5 without issues, and I think both of those are older than 2009.

One of the games that made me wonder was Silent Hunter III. :P

Probably because you had special new UPlay keys for both of them, issued when those games became available in the UPlay store. Retail keys, acquired with retail version of the game don't work. Because Ubisoft are bunch of cunty cunts. I contacted support to see if there's any way I can get these games on UPlay(I have Assassin's Creed, Far Cry and Prince of Persia The Sands of Time as well as The Two Thrones) and they responded saying have no keys to give and don't handle things like these.

They were the retail keys from the physical boxes, I bought Silent Hunter 5 way before uPlay existed (but I bought Assasin's Creed 1 boxed not so long ago, maybe that's why it worked).

It's not that simple.

You can activate older games on UPlay BUT only games you bought recently since the generated key for the older games in digital release is different (uses different algorithm) then for those that shipped in retail version back then. If you try to activate for example POP games or AC1 games BEFORE they were added to UPlay store, it won't work but if you bought them AFTER, it will work.

As far as I know, support for older keys is a work in progress. Or so they said. You just have to wait.

Alright, thanks for the info. A shame though. Steam can add Valve games from the bleeding 90s.

Yeah, I know. I have a lot of Ubi games I want to activate and can't. And the support doesn't seam to help, like EA does with older games.
