I thought I'd try my hand at an event. This is similar to cjcomplex's "Monthly in a Month" whereby you play 6 games within a month.
Mine is tentatively called "2 Games In 10 Days", or “The 20 hour Challenge”
Depending on how well received it is, I might make it a semi-regular thing.
The event will start and end within a specific time of 10 days as announced by myself
Play any TWO games that require a combined total of 20 hours or more to beat, within the event time *
Games must meet these requirements (and are subject to further discretion by myself):
Comment with the games you'd like to play; I also recommend having a backup game, just in case you don't like one of your first picks.
PLEASE post with links to HLTB pages and your achievements pages for the games you want to play.
I can then can confirm length, not started status, achievements, eligibility. I will reply only if there are issues with the chosen games.
This event is for entrance into a giveaway for Ni No Kuni Wrath of the White Witch Remastered
(Region-locked, so can't be activated in Japan, sorry).
Once you have beaten the two games, reply to first post of thread. I'll add you, and send the giveaway link on Steam (once it's live).
I will run the giveaway after the event is over, to give me more time to check and send invites, and set giveaway end-date.
If you're using HLTB, check the "Main story" time. This is the rough MINIMUM amount of time required to beat the game. I don't require you to 100% the game, I only require you to beat/finish the game. Most games have a "complete the story/game" achievement. If your game doesn't have an achievement to indicate you finished the game, then I will require some sort of proof that you have finished.)

You want to see something like this happen on a monthly basis?
I completed Scribblenauts Unlimited yesterday with 13/25 achievements.
I kinda regret picking Hitman Absolution. It's a fun game but I find it too difficult and I think I wont be able to complete it.
Well, you still have enough time to change your game if you wish.
I really thought my choices were "locked" once event started. I might go through my game list now
Nope, it just means a delay or possible issue if the game is ineligible, that's all
Thanks, I will inform under this reply of yours if I change the game. I am probably just going to continue with Hitman and go in all guns blazing!
good luck :) It's a game I stopped playing ( I think I was in some rooftop helicopter section of the game? - was a few years ago now), but I had been meaning to get back into it, and for some reason never have. I really do want to finish it though
I just cleared that half an hour ago. It was one of the earlier stages, and it was quite easy to get past. Perhaps you got stuck in a latter stage with a similar sequence? I really love the concept of the game. I really want to like it, but I am very impatient. However I just completed a couple more levels this time with full stealth and I am now stuck on another one. It seems like a game which you just cannot play continuously. I will have to get back to it after taking a break because it's causing me major frustrations lol.
Hmm, or I'm misremembering things XD
Steam says I've gotten 14hours in, and over half the acheivements, and last played Oct 2014... wow it's been that long...
Finished with Van Helsing and Grim Fandango.
whaaaaaaaat amazing ha
dayum! Did you sleep?
Can you please reply to the first post of the discussion with those links please? Cheers
Nice event. I finished far cry 5 this month but it only has achies in Uplay. Now Im playing AC Odyssey, but i have a lot things to do so the end is far away.
I really like the idea for the event! Will keep an eye for (hopefully) next instance ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
Bump ! :) I just finished the second game. :) Fine.
See below :
Thanks again for this cool event, my backlog really need it. There's such gems still awaiting to be discovered.
Please post in the correct place if you're done, thanks.
Ok, so that's what I did. thanks. :) It's just fixed, now.
Oh damn, only saw this now...perhaps next time. Thank you for hosting a "beat game" event, it's really nice of you and others who help tackle the issue of ever increasing backlog!
Ouch, I saw this too late.
Just curious, why the "are NOT 0CV games" thing?
Playing "freebies" to win a paid game? Yeah, nah.
Or play a paid game for a Free Game! \o/
Can we have a 48hrs Bump when it happens? Because im bad with timezones. Thank you ~<3
The thread is being bumped regularly anyway, so unless you actively visit, you'll still miss it ;)
48hrs left is in exactly 4hours and 13mins from the time of this post.
so, 4PM local time, I'm guessing
Ah ok, tks. Yeah, I am not actively reading XD been playing some multiplayer games so I am trying to keep on track ^^ though I finished one of the shorter games, might want to go back for 100% ^^ thanks for the reply~
I am quite late to this party, but I'd like to try my hand at these:
SOMA (idled for 2 hours previously) - 9.5 hrs
Tales from the Borderlands - 10.5 hrs
Backup game: The Silver Case (idled for 5 hours previously) - 14 hrs
Even if I don't make it in time, I have nothing to lose; been wanting to play these gems for a long time.
Good luck, you only have about 34 hours left! You've chosen the minimum acceptable 20hrs total, so keep that in mind.
I was just finishing The Count Lucanor yesterday 36 hours prior to the deadline when i found the thread. Tried finishing Dungeons 3 but it is both hard and long to be finished in such a short time and i lack sleep. Maybe some other time, have a bump.
EDIT: tried, fell asleep. failed.
I wasn't aware of the event until now, I hope there will be another one.
