I thought I'd try my hand at an event. This is similar to cjcomplex's "Monthly in a Month" whereby you play 6 games within a month.
Mine is tentatively called "2 Games In 10 Days", or “The 20 hour Challenge”
Depending on how well received it is, I might make it a semi-regular thing.
The event will start and end within a specific time of 10 days as announced by myself
Play any TWO games that require a combined total of 20 hours or more to beat, within the event time *
Games must meet these requirements (and are subject to further discretion by myself):
Comment with the games you'd like to play; I also recommend having a backup game, just in case you don't like one of your first picks.
PLEASE post with links to HLTB pages and your achievements pages for the games you want to play.
I can then can confirm length, not started status, achievements, eligibility. I will reply only if there are issues with the chosen games.
This event is for entrance into a giveaway for Ni No Kuni Wrath of the White Witch Remastered
(Region-locked, so can't be activated in Japan, sorry).
Once you have beaten the two games, reply to first post of thread. I'll add you, and send the giveaway link on Steam (once it's live).
I will run the giveaway after the event is over, to give me more time to check and send invites, and set giveaway end-date.
If you're using HLTB, check the "Main story" time. This is the rough MINIMUM amount of time required to beat the game. I don't require you to 100% the game, I only require you to beat/finish the game. Most games have a "complete the story/game" achievement. If your game doesn't have an achievement to indicate you finished the game, then I will require some sort of proof that you have finished.)
Comment has been collapsed.
You want to see something like this happen on a monthly basis?
I will add all eligible users on Steam after the event is over, to send the link for giveaway (feel free to remove me once link received)
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut
Grim Fandango Remastered
Congrats. All looks good to me ✅
Hitman Absolution, with 11,0 hours, and Batman: The Telltale Series, with 9,3 hours.
Impressive ✅ I'm wondering if you slept at all :P
I get about 6 hrs. And I have no life :)
Remothered: Tormented Fathers
Based on looking at guides, you haven't completed Hard West - you're missing at least 3 achievements - the last two scenario achievements and then the one for completing all scenarios.
I thought completing the main story for the entry was enough?
Ed. I completed all side scenarios.
I wasn't trying to be pedantic - I haven't played the game. Thanks for the screenshot, it's clear from that they were side scenarios. All good, thanks ✅
Just finished you were definitely right, The Hex is such a good game I definitely had a great time.
Looks like you're missing one story achievement from The Hex (That Was Lionel Snill). Let me know once you've got that one.
There's also one other hidden achievement you might want to get, but I didn't get it on my first playthrough (although I'm pretty sure you can just play the last chapter to get it), so I won't demand that one.
Ah sorry for not replying was quite sick yesterday. I kind of hit the credits and ended up going to bed. Probably have to boot it up again since it force closed itself and it probably wants me to go through another story or something haha. Still a bbit sick so I'll probably do that if I don't pass out after work.
That's fine, just let me know when you've confirmed (you still have two days left).
Btw got the last achievement and got the hidden achievement. What an ending haha. I definitely have to play through this and get the 100% now.
All good :) ✅
Yeah, I’ve been playing through Okami, and it’s been kinda fun trying to do everything I come across :)
Didn’t expect to sink so much time in over such a short time 👹
Okami definitely looks like a fun game, pretty sure I own it and have been wanting to play it. Before I did the challenges here I just wouldn't play anything recently for some reason, but now I feel back in the groove and want to play more games.
And finished. Took me a bit longer than i would like but welp :D Yes. 100% both. Yes.
Blood: Fresh Supply - 12,5h - my time 21h [2-3 hours of afk probably in that]
The Last Express - 7,5h - my time also 21h but i guess 4-5h may have been on afk. I have kids. Yes.
Finally finished both ^^
Bioshock 1:R 14.5 h
Bioshock 2:R 9.1 h
Hey, I'm about to start Bioshock 2 Remastered. How was it? I've heard a lot of people experienced many crashes and bugs, what was your experience?
Hey. I played the game on Linux and it was kinda great. It crashed only once.
(Pillars of the Earth & Anna's Quest)
How was Anna’s Quest?
I enjoyed it very much. More than I thought I would actually, which is probably why I left it languishing in my backlog for over 2 years! 😅
It's pretty funny, not exactly laugh-out-loud maybe, but the odd chuckle-out-loud once in a while 😁
cool, I'll have to check it out sometime 👍🏻
adds to my Want to Play list on BLAEO ✍🏻
Batman: The Telltale Series
Minecraft: Story Mode.
My total time ended up being 19.6 hours, so if I don't qualify I understand.
No, that's fine. I allowed it in the first place, so I'll stick with still allowing it now that you've completed it ✅
Fine. :) So, here are (again) the "winners" :
Again, thanks a lot for this cool event, my backlog really need it. There's such little gems still awaiting to be discovered.
Finally finished! Both games took longer than expected, but I tend to explore and do side quests whenever possible, so it really shouldn't surprise me any more xD
Thief was alright, nothing too special, but Horace was freakin' awesome! I absolutely loved playing it! So thank you! I might have left it sitting in my backlog a little longer if it wasn't for this challenge :D
I agree, Horace looks like the game that would sit in my backlog just due to it's artstyle, but with all the good things I've heard about it, I'll have to bump it up the list a bit.

(in regard of Hob time: 11.5h first playthrough, 4-5h second, the rest — I'm making videos about collectibles)
Nice! Confirmed ✅
Underhero in 13.9 hours
Turok 2 in 13.1 hours
Finished the games posted here (no need to send me the giveaway)
Not sure how you managed to get those achievements for VA-11 Hall-A, including multiple endings, in a shorter time than the average single playthrough though o_0
It's not different endings, just extra scenes that you unlock if you did things right, I only missed one then I just reloaded one of the last saves to do the bad ending
I'm still amazed at how fast you completed it though.
I'm a fast reader, I always have a shorter time in games like these, I even did the extras prologue and episode which took about an hour for both.
I'm rather surprised about The Council since you can't advance text and have to listen to the voiced lines, I guess because I didn't explore since I thought the story was rubbish
Ugh yeah, I can't stand it when you can't skip/speedup dialogues.
Hmm, Stick of Truth. Maybe I should give that game another chance. How was it for you?
I liked it much more than I expected, especially not being South Park fan (I only watched the firsts seasons many years ago). I was surprised by how engaging and fun the combat is, although on the easy side even on hard difficulty. I really liked the exploration and how the world is filed with secrets.
The story starts quite "normal", but after the first day it goes in really unexpected and weird ways... several times. I quite enjoyed it. It's very South Park.
I'd say you don't need to be a fan of the TV show, but you need to enjoy its kind of humor, otherwise it's hard to recommend.
I also had a Paper Mario itch after watching some streams of the last game, and South Park was a good fix.
Yes, I did play the game for a couple of hours, but stopped playing, I'm not sure what the reason was at the time. Will definitely have another look at it.
Thats similar to my experience ^^ I didnt watch alot of the series but nostalgia and got into the game. Really fun exploring and hitting around for sekrets U enjoy the combat and it was very engaging. Some battles on the harder difficulty can be tough for me. The 2nd game tho, sadly does not look as enjoyable.
The Walking Dead: The Final Season
Finished both games
Completed STEINS;GATE 0 and beaten Dex
(I'm not sure there's an achievement for completing the game but there are two that should work for verification, ie "For the Hoarder" and "No Child Left Behind")
The Wolf Among Us
(the completion achievement is "Happily Ever After")
Although I'm going to replay both of them because I'm like one secret loot away from 100% on South Park and I need to find that sucker!
And I want to replay The Wolf Among Us to try other options and see what changes.
Made it!! :D
Thanks for the event, it got me to play 2 really great games I would've otherwise left languishing in my backlog!
Kotodama looks pretty cool, how was it?
It was pretty disappointing. I'm not a fan of time loops in general, but I can cope with it if there's something worthwhile at the end... Sadly, not the case with this one.
If only match-3 part was good... but it's not. There's no way to skip it, so you are just wasting your time every single loop. And in case you fail, it just throws you back to the main menu, which leads to wasting even more of your time if you didn't save.
Well, it was 90% off in just a year since the release. It would be strange to expect something good. :3
Finished playing Horace & moonlighter
This comment was deleted 9 months ago.
Sorry, no, I can't allow Resident Evil 2, as you started the game before the event started.
Just to clarify, the event started on the 27th @ 8PM my local time. You have at least 6 acheivements earned before that time.
All done :)
Resident Evil 7
Finished both games:
Broken Sword 5 - The Serpent's Curse - Completed with 13h of playime
Mars: War Logs - Beaten (so far) with 14.3h of playtime. I will probably try to complete these game, but not sure if I get it in time, since I need to replay about half of the game again, in order to get one last achievement (and, to be honest - game is really dissapoined me :(
My original comment with games here
The Evil Within 2
Done at last second, games
well yeah, you still got another day ;)
Looks fine ✅
I thought it was already 6th on NZ when I was playing, and I thought I had only 4 hours left x-x
Well I'm done with the challenge anyway
I completed Nightshade - Acheivements - 27 hours
AND London Detective Mysteria - Acheivements - 51 hours Turns out it's 10 hours estimated for EACH main route, which are required for the 'true end'. There were 5 routes...At least it was interesting.
Yeah, with VN's I would have accepted just one route to be played, but amazing effort, 75hrs in 8 days!
Detroit: Become Human
VA-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action
Should've been done yesterday but had to repeat the last chapter of detroit after it crashed
Done, but I only now realize that I'm out, 'cause I'm in your naughty list again. 3rd time, I guess? But anyway thank you for the event. And for the picks.
The playtime is visible now
South Park™: The Stick of Truth™ 12.7
The Banner Saga 3 13.0
Please make your playtime visible.
Sorry. The playtime is visible now
Nope, you've just made your profile visibility more restricted - I can't even view your achievements anymore.
The direct links
Looks like it was a Steam issue the second time, sorry.
Alright, looks fine ✅
Sorry, but you're a couple hours short of the minimum 20hrs, so I can't accept it.
I just beat the main campaign of RoN took longer than i expected. There is a point where the Incans still hold 1/3 of the world and i have the option to end the game. I decided to go for total domination, since, well its world domination campaign. That took more time to route them. I'm not too sure if I qualified though since i do not know which achievement you judge RoN base on for completion. :3
I can't access your stats on Steam.
Whole Steam is down, cant access games too. :)
Its back up, at least for me ^^
Thank you for the confirmation ^^
Hey, I've just finsihed them!
Batman: Arkham Asylum (Big Bang / Bigger Bang)
Bioshock 2 Remastered (Escape / Big Brass Balls)
(Also the url where I chose the games.)
Talk about cutting it close... I really need to learn to control this whole "instinctively doing everything" thing I have going. <.<
Retro City Rampage
Moero Chronicle (The achievement for beating the main game is "Even so the world moves on".)
Nah, I'd be trying to do everything as well on Moero Chronicle... Heck, I foolishly grinded Nep1 so that I could 100% that.
So at least 20 hours of playtime in a week? I think I'll pass, I'll let this one for the brave.
Interesting challenge tho.
3+ hours every day. That's one game-packed week!
or just one very game-packed weekend ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
Ok, that looks more doable, and I've been playing more than usual recently so I might be able to pull it off.
Now I just need to find two suitable games, I have a pair in mind but I need to check if the estimated times add up to 20 hs. Will edit this comment when I decide on the games.
Edit: I was thinking about The Messenger and Vanquish but it didn't add up so I went for a weird combo, let me know if this will do.
The Messenger - HLTB
HuniePop - HLTB
You’re really cutting it fine on those two games hitting 20 hrs, based on the HLTB times, but I’ll allow it.
Thanks. I know myself, I always end up taking about 20% more time than what that site says. I'm also mostly doing this for fun so I don't really mind if I end up not making the cut, don't hesitate in rejecting my entry if I fail, it will motivate me to try again next time and that'll speed up the process of tackling my overgrown backlog :P
I'm not going to be a control freak, but I know that when some people do these (the MiaM event for example), they really like to skimp on their times as much as they can. I'm just trying to avoid that as much as possible ;)
Good luck :)
Honestly, screw HLTB, I'm 16 hours into The Messenger and just now I reached what I assume it's the final level. And I still haven't even touched the DLC. Game's great tho, superb platformer.
I'm out, no way in hell I'll get done with Hunie Pop in time. Really fun challenge tho, I'll definitelly try again if you make a seconds one XD
You still have three days. Like I said before, it's only the main game you need to complete. You can play DLC later at your leisure.
I personally gave up on The Messenger, I never felt like I was getting the hang of it, and always seemed to be dying too much. I managed to get through that wizard trial tower or whatever it was called (somehow) and then that boss fight just stopped me dead.
I understand your annoyance at HLTB, it's based on user's reported times, and of course us slow players (yep, me too) often go over that time considerably (especially as I'm a sucker for attempting 100% when I feel I can). I'm currently playing Okami, and should be finishing the game now according to HLTB, with about 43hrs, but still probably see me playing another possibly 20 hours.
That boss fight is the mid-point of the game, they introduce the main mechanic/gimmick after it. The way to beat it looks like cheesing it BTW (you climb on the hands and glide over most of the crap it throws at you), so it took me a while to figure it out.
I managed to accrue well over 300 deaths at this point so I feel you, it's not as PTSD levels of dying as some other platformers thankfully, I'm still a bit traumatized by the Electronic Super Joy trilogy.
I'm not giving up only because there's little time left but also cos I didn't like what I played of Hunie Pop so far (the gameplay is not what I expected) and I rather just go on and finish all the content in the Messenger including DLC and extras. I just entered for fun anyway but felt like giving an update.
I was like that with Hollow Knight as well, I dunno, maybe I'm just crap at platformers... or lack the patience.
There's a game I bought like a year ago and I'm still postponing, it has a reputation of being hard and I have a history of getting stuck at the end of metroidvanias and not beating the last few bosses.
🗾👀Thank you Event♪🥒👀
Regional restrictions for Japanese games.
It is a trap of a Japanese game company.XD
A Plague Tale: Innocence - HLTB
Yakuza Kiwami - HLTB
may as well 100% yakuza kiwami while you are at it. Why just leave it at yakuza 0.
May as well 100% all the games in a week while at it :P
I'm missing the climax battles and I don't think I will be able to beat them :/
im still annoyed how I did all but the last section and somehow by the next time I played they went missing. I absolutely hated the zombie mission and never want to it see that rubbish again. I loved rush mode but its not really fit for a giant monster that takes forever to kill with like 5 minions with it. By the time I barely killed 1, I had like 2 more rushing at me making my life hell
Unless there's another one on Ultimate, the Proving Grounds 5 is the one with the zombies and rush mode I didn't find it that hard, just focus on the big ones and the rest will simply watch, the next round will not spawn unless you take down enough zombies
And I decided to give a proper try today with the climax battles, I have faith now
oh well good luck with them. considering how much work you put in this month be sad to see you fall at the last moment.
I'm in exactly the same position :(
Death's Gambit would be fine if you prefer to play that as one of the two - the average time says 9hrs54mins, lol.
No longer Monthly? then I'll pick A plague tale to have an excuse to actually play that game (will add the link later)
Sure, no worries.
For clarification, would that be 10 hours to beat combined or each?
10hrs each, so total 20hrs.
This isn’t all decided just yet, I need interest first before I decide on exact specifics
wow, lots of changes in a short amount of time. The time increase brings it into the "tough but doable" range for me (assuming my new job's hours are as I anticipate) and thank you for the flexibility of 20hrs total rather than 10 hours each. Time to put some thought into what I'd play; I had two games in mind initially that I wanted to play, but I realized I was thinking of the completion / main+extra time rather than the base time.
I think if I do this, I'll likely end up combining this with my PoP games so
STEINS;GATE 0, HLTB 13h50m
Kentucky Route Zero, HLTB 7h48m
Dex, HLTB 11h04m
May I ask what does PoP mean?
Play or Pay, a group that runs in 3 month cycles [although you can probably join in the middle of it] where everyone selects 2 short , 2 medium, 2 long, and 1 very long game are selected for you to play with a leaderboard of who has played/completed the most.
It looks like the most recent recruitment thread has been closed due to change in admin.
Oh, I see, I've seen PoP pop up(unintended pun) like at least twice on the thread and thought it was an urban lingo but no idea. Thks for the reply. It does suit this event pretty much. Have fun in your games ^^
Hacknet 10 hrs (dec 2016, idled 2 hrs)
Neon Chrome 15 hrs (jan 2017, idled 3 hrs)
I won't accept either of those, the normal time to beat is less than 10hrs.
I have changed the rules - you're able to choose games that weren't just in Monthlies.
Sorry, I thought we were looking at time required to complete cheevos, not base game. I will find 2 others
Zombillie, idled 91 mins
Puzzler World 2
yup ok ;)
👍 cool beans! Thanks for event :)
Why Humble Bundle here too, specifically, instead of normal backlog games? Because of the Monthly event I don't have any time realistic HB games left to beat. It'd be easier for me to come up with a way to participate if I had more flexibility in choosing my games.
20+ hours in a week is a bit rough for me right now anyway, I have a summer job and in a week I'm going to begin my move to another town. But thanks for making an event anyway, I love getting new reasons to work on my backlog!
Yeah, I think you have more important things to deal with.
The only reason for HB monthly games was the idea, I did say I was after suggestions, but the main reason for HB is the assumption that one has actually spent money on games and that they’re not freebies.
Ah, I see. Some monthly games have ended up being free though, recently Snake Pass is an example of that. If the games having value matters, maybe a no 0 CV games rule would be easier to work with as a participant. Playing 20 hours in a week is a big requirement already.
The reason for the 20hrs in a week is because of the game I'm giving away - it's the sort of game to sink an easy 20+ hours into each week cos it demands playing for a few hours each play session. Anyone who can't play two shorter games for that period of time is unlikely to play a much larger game which demand a lot of spare time to play it.
I have loosened the rules.
It's a nice thought and I'm not really opposed to the big time sink, for me combining that with a very limited pool of games to play would be very tricky. But I really liked the changes you made, seems a lot more doable now!
HB monthly promotion detected
It would be just my luck that n Ni no Kuni would be in next month’s HB CHOICE 🤪
A challenge that rewards me for cleaning my backlog? I'd like to see more like this.
Haven't decided yet but I will choose from these:
I have changed the rules slightly - so This War of Mine isn't eligible. However, you now have 10 days from the start of the event.
Hmmm that is a lot of hours in a week! Should search my backlog and do it... eeeeeek. Not sure if I'll play 2 10+ games in a week haha
Rules loosened up - maybe you can do it.
Thanks for the update! Hmm I have a few options, just depending on what I'm feeling like playing this week (that adds up to the 20 HLTB). Even if I get one game off the backlog and don't make the 20 hours, that's a success to me :)
Shadow Warrior 2 7.5 hours https://howlongtobeat.com/game?id=39740
I think any of those long+short combinations should be fine.
I won't accept Shadow Warrior 2 however, as it was a very limited time freebie on Steam.
Ok thanks for checking! Now the decision on which 2 haha
I didn't realise SW2 was a freebie previously, the more you know :P
Ended up really enjoying The Walking Dead, so decided on a Telltale theme!
Edit: Managed to make it in time! :) The Wolf Among Us only took me 7 hours to beat strangely, but then it took me another 2 hours to replay it to get the Librarian achievements...
Huh went through and realised I got 6 reasonable timed monthly games I could do for the other thread
I got 2 games for pop and while I dont see myself beating both in a weeks time I'll still play along for the fun of it
oh new rules then yeah i'll probably take part. I'll use my other pop game, detroit become human, instead and i'll look at my games later for the next
I have two questions: are games with 8~9.5 hours to beat main story in how long to beat eligible? And if i started a long ago and just played for a few minutes and droped, can i start a new save to participate?
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut - 17h main story - https://howlongtobeat.com/game?id=31699
Tomb Raider (2013) - 11h main story - https://howlongtobeat.com/game?id=10469
The Flame in the Flood - 9h main story - https://howlongtobeat.com/game?id=29911
Chroma Squad - 13h main story - https://howlongtobeat.com/game?id=26150
Others 2 i have are Shantae and the Pirate's Curse and Warhammer End Times Vermintide, but their main story are only 8h
Rules have been loosened (10 days to play instead of just a week, and not just HB games now), but no, if the main game is less than 10hours, it's not eligible.
So i'll play
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut - 17h main story
Bayonetta - 11h main story
Sorry, updated the rules again (see rule #3) so, feel free to change your picks if you want.
those 2 are fine unless you wanna change them
It's fine. I'll stay with these 2 ^^
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut - 17½h
Bayonetta - 11h
The Last Tinker: City of Colors - 6h
The Metronomicon: Slay The Dance Floor - 5½h
Scribblenauts Unlimited - 7h
Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide - 8h
Just updating with my achiev links
i'm 100% sure i'll play van helsing but updating again with more options in case i feel i wont have enough time to beat bayonetta
Hey, i don't know if you saw it or not, but could you confirm that all these options are ok?
yeah, I didn't reply cos you said you'd stick with those two.
Any of those other ones are fine if combined with the Van Helsing: Final Cut game
This comment was deleted 5 months ago.
I've loosened the rules a bit. You have no excuse now, apart from not wanting to participate :P
That shouldn't be a problem, glad to see you'll give it a shot :)
Underhero [Screenshot] - HLTB: 12 Hours.
The Testament of Sherlock Holmes - HLTB: 12 Hours.
Missed some achievements, maybe I go after them later.
Cool, I played 11-11 just recently, and enjoyed the experience :)
Ok, then I'll play 11-11 first. May I change Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter for Syberia 3 or The Inner World?
sorry, as TempeteJoachim pointed out to me, 11-11 is actually to short, as the game can easily be beaten in less than 10hrs.
Syberia 3 would be fine, but The Inner World is also too short.
Ok. So may I choose Syberia 3 and Testament of Sherlock Holmes?(According How long to beat, It's 12 hours to beat the main story)
yup looks fine.
It's short though
ah whoops thanks for that
Really awesome idea for a giveaway, and a nice extra push for people to clear their backlog! Just read your reply to someone else about the 20+ hours and that it's based on the game being given away, and I like your thought process on that too! Can't fault you for wanting your game to go to someone who's more likely to play it.
Not too sure about the games having to be from HB Monthly/Choice, but I can understand why you wouldn't want people playing a bunch of free games just to get another free game. spookypannkaka's idea about no 0CV games might work for that though.
EDIT: Just noticed you changed the requirements while I was writing this so you can ignore the last bit :P
Soooo, after going through my library and checking time to beat for each, I've narrowed it down to these at the moment:
Horace (13 hours)
Republique (10 hours)
Masquerada: Songs and Shadows (14 hours)
Thief (11 hours)
Bayonetta (11 hours)
Sunset Overdrive (10 hours)
As long as you don't combine Republique (less than 10hrs) with Sunset Overdrive as your two picks, any of those should be fine ;)
Awesome! I'll be sure not to combine those 2 :)
Do I have to narrow it down to 2 games now, or can that wait until after? I just don't want to pick 2, start playing, and end up having issues or just not liking the game and wanting to change to another :P
Nah, the games are ticked off, so as long as you start and beat any two while the event is running, that's fine
I was a fool for choosing Thief! Too much exploring and and too many side quests keeping me distracted! 7 hours in and I've finished 2 of 8 chapters xD
I'm gonna stick with it though!
Edit: 23 hours later and I've finally beaten Thief! Onto the next game!
10 days seem a bit tight but I'll try
VA-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action
I love this idea for an event, but unfortunately the rules seem a bit too strict to participate, in my case at least. If the goal is to play for 20 hours, I wish it could be additive. Like beat one game that requires 20+ hours, or beat 4 games that require ~5 hours each, etc. I have a ton of games that hover around the 8.5 - 9.5 hour mark in terms of regular beating time according to HLTB (but would count if going by completion times), so they miss the mark for eligibility. Other games I'm seeing in my list are 15+ hours, which isn't bad, just a bit trickier to fit in 30 hours vs 20 hours in 10 days.
Since we have time before the event starts, I'll look through my library some more to see what might work, but at a glance I'm seeing most of my games are just shy of meeting the requirements or overshoot them. Regardless, I love any events that help tackle backlogs, so thanks for hosting this! Hopefully I find something that works. :D
I've just been going through my library to find games around the 10 hour mark and it's harder than I first thought it would be. I've found plenty that are less than 10 hours, of varied amounts, and others that are waaaaay over! Perhaps allowing people to beat a minimum of 2 games (more if required), as long as the combined time to beat is over 20 hours would make it easier for everyone?
Thanks for the input :)
That's a good suggestion, I will allow a mix of times for the 2 games, as long as the combined HLTB time is over 20hrs.
That's great, thank you!
Off to go pick 2 games. :D
Neat idea! I'll not be participating this time as I'm not interested in the prize, but it's a great idea and I hope you continue with it. Perhaps in future events you could seek community donations? That could sweeten the prize and ease the burden on your own wallet.
Also, for future events I was wondering if you would you consider entries that have less than an hour previously played? I have an older computer and try to test all my purchases before the refund period expires, but then might take a long time to get back to them.
I'd only be doing this once a month at most, so it's not too big a deal.
If others want to donate giveaways, that's up to them though :)
It looks like you have a problem with starting too many games and not finishing them! :P
I can't help you with that, it gets tricky if I allow games that have been started - one can play in offline mode without time being logged, for example - so it makes it a bit messy.
based on the games you have played, I don't think your game is that old, I would suspect mine is probably older (I'm still rocking a 1st gen i5 - when they were only dual-core!)
So would something like Hitman: Absolution (which I've only "played" for 5 minutes) with a beatable time of 12,5 hours and Sniper Elite V2 with a beatable time of 7 hours work (19,5 hours), or it must be definitely over the 20 hours? I'm thinking of playing them next, but I could wait a few days before I start them. And what happens if I finish the game(s) with a lower playtime than the estimated by HLTB?
Updated with links to my achievements: Hitman Absolution and Batman: The Telltale Series;
and another update with links to HLTB: Hitman Absolution and Batman: The Telltale Series.
I have to be firm - 20hrs is the bare minimum I will allow, so no, I can't accept that combination.
Sure, then I'll change Sniper Elite V2 and choose Batman: The Telltale Series (8,5 hours).
that's fine :)
We'll see if I will take part, but I would most likely want to play :
Ghost of a Tale and Detroit Become Human
First one is done. Ghost of a Tale took me longer than I thought. Off to the next one.
Nice idea but too much for me, maybe when i have holidays but not even sure..
Again, why not ? I can't tell if I can play all along, but here is some games I may enter :
Should be fine (as long as the two chosen are longer than 20hrs).
Can you link to your achievements page for each game please so I can check.
Sure, thanks. :) I just edited my list.
( Most of my games used to be idled first for cards, so that's why they may have already a few hours. )
Looks ok to me 👍
Fine. :) So, we've in the end :
The Banner Saga
I'll have a look in a bit to see if there are 2 games that are doable with those requirements :)
In the meantime... bump :)
Event looks interesting. I have planty of suitable games:
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor 0/74 HLTB=15 Idling=3.3
System Shock: Enhanced Edition 0/6 HLTB=13 Idling=3
Blasphemous 0/45 HLTB=13 Idling=3.8
Gas Guzzlers Extreme 0/105 HLTB=10 Idling=1.9
Seven: The Days Long Gone 0/35 HLTB=24 Idling=6.9
I have not yet decided which ones I will play, but I hope they all fit)
Should be fine.
Can you link to your achievements page for each game please so I can check, thanks.
What do you mean by beating the game? 100% achievements or just the main story, or it may vary by games?
By beating I mean finished the game. If you want 100% the game that’s up to you, but not required.
