Just bought a Playmax Thunder Controller today. Installed the disc. It's not working. The light for the mode shows up.
Only tried on Rocket League so far.

Does anyone else this controller and had problems?

  • unzip x360ce.exe (you'll probably need NOT 64 bit, it's based on game)
  • copy x360ce.exe in the game folder
  • launch x360ce.exe and allow it to create its files
  • set up your controller (x360ce will ask to find a config online)
  • close x360ce.exe
  • play the game, your controller will be considered an xbox360 controller and will work almost with every game

You have to run x360ce first and map the buttons.
Other than that, I would just return it and get a proper controller. I can tell by looking at it, that it comes form a subset of Chinese branded controllers. They all have the same shape/design and companies just put their logo on the top. These are old tech and only Dinput. I recommend getting a controller, such as a Logitech F310 or Xbox 360 instead which are Xinput.

Don't think they will accept a return when i've opened it.

Most of third-party controllers tend to not work properly, until you rebind controls in game.
Edited: forgot about x360ce :(

Does JB Hi Fi accept returns if it's been opened?

No clue. Hopefully you can return it as defective. Their gear often is.

If you want a good PC controller, I've always been a fan of the wired 360 controller. And there's always the option to use a PS3, PS4, or Xbox Juan controller. Personally, I think its a worthwhile investment, if you're going to use a controller on PC.

XBox 360 wireless is the way to go if you can afford the wireless adapter ($10-$15 USD on eBay, less if you want to risk ordering from China)

From the looks of the Playmax Thunderpad, you'd want a PS3 controller which works just as well as a wired 360 controller. SCP PS3 (youtube tutorial here) will make it run and feel like a wired 360 controller.

I'd prefer Wired.

Yeah wired controller is like 20$ cheaper too, I use the afterglow and works fine for at least 2-3 years then the thumbstick will give out if used heavily (like most gaming controllers) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EZKNSTQ, and I know Walmart carries them if there's one locally.

Yep 1000% confirmed works on PC, sorry it took me so long to respond!

EDIT: My first afterglow I purchased the lights didn't work, not so much of a problem for me as I didn't care but I could've taken it back to walmart and exchanged it they're pretty savvy about letting you exchange defective stuff.
