I have not played a real game of tf2 in a long time.

I know that feel. Everyone of my steamfriends started playing dota2 but I don't give a flying fuck about that game. There wasn't any interesting update nor new weapons since Christmas. I had 3 idle accounts besides my main account and it motivated me a little to at least play 10 hours a week normally to get my drops but they killed idling. They nerfed the sticky jumper and set bonuses (RIP saharan spy and gas jockey pyro). If I play on pubs I usually rape the enemy team which is not fun (after a while), if I play on lobbies they rape me which is also not fun.

I hoped that maybe shootmania will be the next best thing after TF2 but the game and the community was dying on realease day and it just got worse since then.

YOu already wasted much of your life with this game. It's too late for you now.

I play with my friends, never alone. It's good to plan a strategy (i.e. order your friends around on what to do) and just dominate the noobs. But alone, it isn't that fun.

quite what is that ?? just take a brake like 1-2 months then you play again and so on :)
