There was a big thread on the Steam forums during the time when Dead Island CD keys were being traded pretty much everywhere. Reading it was pretty painful.... you had the people with the CD keys trying to convince people that it was totally legitimate to have 50 keys for a game with no proof or purchase, and then you had a bunch of completely clueless posters agreeing with them and going on about cheap Russian prices (again, with no proof of purchase), and anyone trying to point out that it seemed kind of suspicious got shouted down.
It sucks that a whole lot of people will have traded for the keys entirely unknowing of any potential problem, and now they've lost their trade items.

There are still people convinced that they were legit keys. Unbelievable.

I thought the name in the OP's post sounded familiar. Then I realized I was in his group, along with that frequency guy. Had no clue about the kind of reputation those guys have. Left it immediately. Thanks for the head's up.
Edit: And now that I think about it, on the few times I went into the group chat, he almost always had multiple copies of Dead Island to give away, and it was the ONLY game he would give away. I Should have realized what was going on then.

Oh, I remember you. We talked about this before, didn't we? Wasn't that guy trading Bulletstorm CD Keys too?

Just wanted to mention how i was pratically invading threads for awhile at steamtrades warning ppl about the dead island keys, this was happending to people even last year & was reported in the dead island forums many times.
*These guys doing this pratically were raping during the steam pile event, Stockpiling hundreds of games through DI key trades. When it came more obvious from reports & keys being used before they can sell them they even got so desperate they would take nearly any legit steamgift for a key (Anything). As long as its legit it has value.
And yes some people do get suspended accounts, If it happends put in a ticket with steam & good luck.
I was longed hyped for dead island even years in advance so I was a preorder and glad to support them for a future release.

I tried warning people on Steamtrades and Steam forum since the day it was leaked.
Unfortunately no one gave a shit. Many even defended those dicks they got the key from.

Happened to me too. I traded a copy of Terraria for the serial last year. Looking through my trading history, I can't see the name of the guy who fleeced me, though...
Regardless, may he contract a double dose of incurable ball cancer, and his mouse hand wither to a pustulent stump.
I hope he installs Origin.
On multiple PCs.
Utter scrote.

Seems unlikely he will keep it (or the other games in his account) if Valve find out he has been selling pirated serials...
