VISUALSHOCK! SPEEDSHOCK! SOUNDSHOCK! NOW IS THE TIME TO THE 68000 HEART ON FIRE!

This is a thread for those who played / still play games on Sega Genesis / Mega Drive. Some would say SG is all about Steam games, but who knows. You can share anything MD-related here, because why not.

I'll start with some tune to get it going :)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9313JkkD6U

And since it's all Steam and stuff, I'm also looking for PC games which were majorly influenced by Mega Drive games or even better, remakes or sequels. I know some, but not all them. Perhaps you know more?

The list of games so far...

Remakes / sequels / remasters
Sacred Line Genesis Remix (576p :) alternate version of the original game) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/454230/
Pier Solar (HD port of the original) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/286220/

Classic untouched original games
Jim Power (unfortunately MD port it's not a part of Steam version at the moment, even though it was promised) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/370270/
Many classic games from Sega (too many to list as individual games) - http://store.steampowered.com/search/?publisher=SEGA

MD-influenced:
Super Puzzle Platformer Deluxe - http://store.steampowered.com/app/238530/
Dinocide (has Genesis gamepad in the options screen, the game actually uses only three buttons + D-Pad) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/423900/
Deathstate (looks, plays and sounds like a Genesis game) - http://store.steampowered.com/app/402120

++++++++

And of course, this thread also has a giveaway (4 lvl):

Well, I think I'm a bit too young to own a Maga Drive, but I recently enjoyed Sonic Spinball on the Sega Mega Drive/ Genesis Classics on Steam (°w^)

Sonic 2 is my favourite one from the original trilogy. Although I still didn't play the full version of Sonic 3 & Knuckles yet.

That's a cute gif...what's the source?

I grew up with a Mega Drive, and pretty much skipped the Saturn / PS1 / N64 systems. During that time, I got a fair number of Mega Drive games, found some true gems on the system. Because we can't have a topic about the system without a list of games for interested users to check out, I'll post my list of favourites that aren't part of the Steam library. :D

Alisia Dragoon
Castlevania: Bloodlines / Castlevania: The New Generation
Contra: Hard Corps / Probotector
Gauntlet IV
General Chaos
Ghouls 'n Ghosts
Hellfire
Herzog Zwei
Jungle Strike
The Lost Vikings
Lotus II: R.E.C.S
Mega Bomberman
Mega Man: The Wily Wars
Mega Turrican
OutRun 2019
Puggsy
Ranger X
Sagaia / Darius 2
Shadowrun
Skitchin'
Tyrants: Fight Through Time / Mega Lo Mania

And for the stuff that is on Steam, you guys better play LandStalker and the Shining games.

Also, Keio Flying Squadron for the Mega CD. Bunny girl on a dragon shooting all sorts of wildlife.

It's funny, Jungle Strike is one of my most favourite games ever, but only recently I found out it had a DOS version. Which is worse (IMHO), since they changed a lot of things (not for the better).

Also, there's FAIR Strike on Steam :)

They tried so hard to make the logo look like it's a sequel to Strike series...I wonder why EA didn't do anything about this, considering it was also a retail release.

The Strike series had 5 games, but Jungle will always be the best. Desert Strike was brutally difficult when I played it, Urban Strike was too easy. I never did get around to Soviet Strike and Nuclear Strike (this one was on PC) on later systems.

Same. Couldn't get past the very first level in Desert Strike, had no such troubles with Jungle Strike at all.
Played Soviet Strike a bit on the Saturn, couldn't really get into it. Doesn't have that charm or something.

I managed to make it to the third level of Desert Strike, but never did get to finish it to move onto the final level.

Having so many levels is yet another reason Jungle Strike was better. :P

Never had a Sega when i was younger, but got a Mega CD a few years ago. :)
Played Snatcher on it, but as most of my retro computers, i can't seem to get around to them (the hassle with all the cords makes it also not easy to just play something fast.)

I never had the chance to enjoy the console, probably because I'm too young and it's basically unknown in my country but the games you listed looks like a lot of fun. Have a bump for more exposure :)

Added one new Steam game to the list, Deathstate - http://store.steampowered.com/app/402120
Looks, plays and sounds like a Genesis game (aside from all that roguelike stuff). The soundtrack is amazing.

I was a SNES kid. But there was one Mega Drive game that I for some reason really gravitated towards, and that was Kid Chameleon. It's not a particularly good looking game, even by 1992 standards, but it's just fun.

Yeah, a very fun game. Even bought the cartridge a few years back.
But the thing that made me giving up on it was the lack of save / password system. 100+ levels which must be completed in just one sitting...
